Why does the neighbor even have to tell you the light is a bother? Couldn't you see that for yourself?
I have a similarly rude neighbor that I had to tell on several occasions to shut the damn thing off.
Exactly! This is how Amazon sells so many MP3s and Kindle books. NY Times, on the other hand, doesn't get it. I peruse their headlines online just about every day. Click on an article every other day or so. Some times I get the "Limit Exceeded" message that sends me to their subscribe page. All well and good but I can't get an online subscription only and their prices (considering I only want online access) are ridiculous.
(not Garfunkel). I'm an amateur videographer and have combed Vimeo and other sites for artistic videos, a number of which were taken from various flavors of "drones". Is this now illegal ?
When love is gone
there's always justice
when justice is gone
there's always force
when force is gone
there's always mom

The VP where I used to work asked the development team to interview a potential candidate for our team manager. One question I asked was what books on project management had he read - answer: none. Later the VP asked me how it went and I said OK with this one concern. He said "well, he's a friend of mine and he starts next week".
You have the right to modify an employment contract before you sign it. I've specifically modified the company's right to ownership clause for my last three jobs and haven't had any issues. My last job also required a background check and the contract implicitly allowed them access to my personal info for the rest of my life; changed that to 30 days.
I went to a high school in NY that was set up as a magnet school for career education; I went for computer programming. We did most of our creative work using FORTRAN 44 on acoustic modem teletypes with paper-punch ribbons for storage. Behind the scenes there was a mainframe somewhere. We also learned about IBM punch cards and some other language (COBOL?) but we didn't do much with that (except for figuring out how to override the punch card machine so that we could punch out EVERY hole in the entire card).
ZAPHOD:
It’s a carbon copy of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal - or I’m a Vogon’s Grandmother!
ARTHUR:
The Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal! Is it safe?
[Sound of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal salivating]
FORD:
Oh Yes! It’s perfectly safe - it’s just us who are in trouble.
I know what you mean about the exaggerated bass, that's is exactly what I experienced with their speakers in their show room. However, I purchased their original noise cancelling head phones ($300) when they first came out because my cubical was immediately below the heating and air conditioning system. The head phones DID NOT exhibit the same bass boost that their speakers did and the noise cancelling ability was outstanding. I've tried other noise cancelling head phones just as a point of comparison and none did as good a job. The tonal range seemed to be evenly distributed and the ability to reproduce sounds accurately was good as near as I can tell. Also, Bose will (or at least did) give you a $100 credit if you brought in an old pair for replacement. Seems like an absolute necessity if you work in a cubical environment.

I did the "clock" thing too. What are kids going to find today when they take things apart? Oh, a chip.
No kidding. It arrived 2 days ago. A DJI Phantom with a GoPro video camera. So, I guess I'm just adding to the social churn.
(Shit, the govt probably just recorded that)
Where can I contribute to his defense fund? (That is if the government doesn't block it.)

Researchers are hampered by all the CPU cycles going to FBI and CIA searches. (Makes me think of Person on Interest)

So, do they now throw out the THC part of the urine tests?
+1 Velcro, the way to go
I have some equipment I'd like to track (seems too expensive for that). How long will the operate with a new battery or charge?

HTML, CSS, and Javascript all in one day and "in depth". Why not add C++, c#, regular expressions, and others as well?
Create software to automatically kill the lawyers.
Ok, McD's... let's see the security footage.
Oh, and only WE are allowed to record.

I'm concerned about second hand Facebook.
To read an online magazine, you must also have a snail mail subscription?
Ditto for NY Times online. They want you to pay $195/yr to get a paper delivered just so that you can view their online content.
And you won't find "media rated" safes at Office Max/Staples/Office Depot etc..
But then you're a anti-social and therefore likely to go on a shooting rampage.
Or, you still use email and are therefore old and they won't hire you.
A tribute to "Person of Interest". The Machine.
