Why not go directly to his website (when it's not slashdotted, of course), click on "Songs" at the top, and have a listen, for free, to his whole catalog (minus a few songs he wrote for other people). No need to pirate when he gives it away for free.

Points 2 and 3 are valid, and yes, hilighting and navigating are slower than a paper book. Point one, however, you're way off base about. "Locations" in Kindle books are absolute, down to the word. It doesn't matter what text size you're looking at, location 500 will be the same on each device. So rather than Page 20, the Kindle-enabled teacher would say navigate to location 232... the students would hit menu, go to location, and type 232... just as fast, if not faster, than trying to flip to a new page in a textbook.
And the new DX is a native pdf reader, where each page is a separate item. If the book is in pdf format, the teacher can say "Go to page 20" and it will be meaningful. The screenshots on amazon.com show page numbers at the bottom of the screen where it describes pdf reading.

Create a disease that anyone can catch and then show symptoms and spread, but only kills one particular population set. It would rapidly spread globally, infecting nearly everyone, but only wipe out one population...

Ever notice how much crap is also installed on Dells straight from the factory? There are trials of this, trials of that, ad-ware on the next thing... Dell doesn't put that junk on for free. They probably make more on add-on stuff than the copy of Windows costs them. When you buy a Dell with Linux installed, they don't get the kickback from all the trial garbage. Thus, it costs more to the end user.
This happened to me... I read the Apple thread, and followed simple instructions... unplugged my HP printer, and it stopped the BSOD's when I plugged in my iPhone. Most people are saying the problem is with the Apple USB drivers screwing with the drivers for HP printers and Logitech mice/keyboards. There may be other devices that cause the problem as well, but those two are the biggies.
So until iTunes 8.1 is released, I can either charge my phone or print... but not both at the same time!
