Rivets were bad, they failed under pressure, and the ship sank. The only reason this is "news" is because they found corroborating evidence in the shipbuilder's old documents.

I tried all the countries I could think of that have a halfway decent english speaking population. (and a few that don't, that South Park likes mocking... France and Mexico come to mind)
They are very close. The ipod touch is missing three things that the iphone has: a cell phone, bluetooth, and a camera. Any application that doesn't use one of those three things will work equally well on both platforms.
You want always-on internet connectivity? Wouldn't that require some sort of, oh, I dunno, cell phone reciever? Have you heard of this new thing, called an iPhone? It's exactly what you want, minus the capacity for music/data.
