Gets my full respect. Matrix1 was a great idea of course, not original but new for screen and done to brilliance of course.

I supect there'll be no surprises for our expectations of the movie.

Only really hard core fans and hype wishers will be screwed - overly wishful thinking.

    Don't worry it'll be a nice trilogy.

  9. will dvorak cure the lazy me? on Why is Everyone Still Stuck in QWERTY? · · Score: 1

As a total hunt+peck typist I'll do anything to speed things up.

I've looked at Dvorak hard and tried flicking the light switches on and off Kevin-Mitnik-Hackers2 style but I'm never gonna get quicker than 50wpm.

I learnt to type before I could write, so any changing is as daunting a propect as learning to write with my right hand ...even if logic tells me it'll be fine and it's worth the effort. The truth is hard, it looks like I'm lazy. ((learning to write after using a computer seemed a bit odd, as did mental math with a calc on my watch, luckily I trusted))

I keep telling myself that one day I'll sort it out and learn touch typing but like more than a few readers here I never have got round to it, you know who you are!

I'd certainly take interest in the hard-wired Dvorak keyboards you can get; can then plug-and-pray as you go.

It seems the hard truth is - You got to learn to touch type if you want to go any faster, undoing and wasting all your previous work and ability beforehand. Dvorak isn't going to help.

Must learn to touch type then...

    Bah, I'll do it tommorrow.

  14. p2p: Analogy = Gossip. as hard to battle on Mozilla and BitTorrent? · · Score: 1

    - of course I think a technology shouldn't be restricted due to a small minority use that has little impact ((complete descruction of all media companies being small impact naturally)), especially as to restrict it is to shoot oneself in the foot

We're gonna see big political change on IP but before we get it it looks as if lots of people are going to have to suffer 1st, inc. record companies and p2p'ers.

    - p2p? gossip as analogy. Imagine there's a rumour going around at work about you and so-and-so, and (s)hes a married (wo)man. What so you do? One tactic is to outgun them with your own gossip, trying to drown out thier gossip, or best of all respond before they form an opinion in thier mind.
Thus, this is what I expect will be the line the governments will take. `Can't beat them, so join them' It'll be an extention of the powers that are so obvious over Newspapers, Radio and estabilishged media. I expect this'll be achieved by corruption too like is it aided currently, (in all Developed Countries?). The anti-terror laws etc introduced surely will get killed off in time as the try-to-silence-them approach doesn't work on the bigger scales.

yes, I like Novell but not for reliability.

properitory - may beat on useability

oss - may beat in engineered aspects

I'm told linux does kinda lack things that make Novell alot easier and _quicker_ to use, especially regards groups, linux is well engineered but less usable; good in some situations, hard going in most.

I'm sure Novell would love to improve linux in the Networked-Desktop area but I don't think they have the balls, they probably think it's easy. Theyt aren't welcome.

I have recorded thing s via Mini-disc that if hadn't have been captured we would have never heard. Many bootlegs this way have served as the only record of great performances.

It's with this knowledge I recorded a Jimi Hendrix cover band i saw live.

So there you are - at one point there's 5+ links in the chain ->

Jimi covers Robert Johnsen -> Cover band play it live -> I record it -> I practice the song on my Guitar at home at my convienience -> I play it to a friend who hasn't heard it before... music like language a living thing.

So what have records got to do with it all? Where are the RIAA now? I'm afraid music is language. The record biz was a niche borne of technology, it is now irrelervent... but the suits fight back, thier most respectable achievement? - Fame Acadamy and the like.

If Alsa is possible I could try to convert some multitracking programs ( although i know of none lightwieght & QT atm :/ ), but could also imagine it possible; kernel level programming is beyond anyone I know well.

Imagine - take your Zaurus, SolarPanel and Acoustic. Then sit under a tree outdoors quietly building up layer of layer of heart rendering lift music.
