Of course, RAM usage doesn't matter as much these days, - of course it doesn't if you've got a lot of it - but if you've only got 32Mb it matters a lot of the time!
I remember showing one of my students how to use Realplayer to listen to Radio 4. The frustrating this was that most of the time we tried there was just a recorded message saying something along the lines of : "We are sorry but we do not have the rights to broadcast the programme currently on Radio 4 over the Internet".
Yes - you're right - but I was playing it for up to 4 hours at a time. But at the stage I was 1000+ acres I was getting more runes than I could possibly need & I had to keep building on the new land to keep my taxes at a reasonable level - also constantly adding to the army to keep the dpa the same. When there's about 4 provinces all trying to cast about 3 negative spells on you at once it can take a while to sort out the damage.
Anyway - it is addictive - trust me.
"to play with dolls" - er no! Simulation games have always been popular - even from the days of Populous & Civilization. Would you have said the same thing about Cannon Fodder?
"It seems that if an OEM does not ship Windows on every PC they ship that they are severely penalized, and can have their license revoked" - just another way M$ keeps a stranglehold on the market. I thought most people knew this already anyway - even if this was changed though - putting computers into the marketplace with no OS (or Linux) would be financial suicide anyway. The only company I've ever heard of shipping a computer sans OS is WalMart.
The question is though will the West sort out the problem with AIDS in Africa - or will they decide its too much money to spend on a problem that's not to do with their own people?

at the critics who think that China shouldn't have a space program in the first place but should instead concentrate more on its more down to earth problems.
Ah - brings a tear to my eye just thinking of these old games - at least software houses produced quality then - unlike these days with the likes of Daiktana *shudders* around.
Even if true - the people with a billion USD really don't have to bother cracking encryption codes! That leaves only governments - which wouldn't be able to justify such a huge expense! So yet again its all just fiction - even the actual method has questions raised over it. I mean look at the RSA challenge - the 576 bit, 640 bit, 704 bit, 768 bit, 896 bit and 1024 bit challenges are yet to be actually solved by anyone. The prize money for solving those (assuming someone had built the thing) is only $285,000 - still a very poor return on your investment.

Well I suppose it's a lot better effort than my monotonous Borg Like :-

You will write articles about us.
Linux is futile.
Prepare to use Windows.

Your company will be assimiliated.
Your technological distinctiveness will be added to our own.

(The subject says it all).
then the review would've been worse than the film. (and as Basil Brush would say *boom* *boom*)
"The story (which I urge you to ignore)" - ah another one of those we forgot about the plot films then...
Hears the term unbreakable - followed by the sound of every pane of glass breaking. :o)
Does the link not work for everyone else as well - or is it just me?

Yes but they could be doing this to get more sales as there are far more PC owners than Mac owners.
I used to play another text MUD - Utopia - but it got so addictive I had to stop.

How does the "beam" work & what is its range?
Ah - lawyers - they always find a way to weasel out of responsibilty for anything in the fine print.

We pay astronauts all this taxpayers money - just for them to go into space and have *fun*? Sheesh - wish I could get a job like that! :o)
When robots can repair themselves like "biological machines" - then I'll be impressed. Until then to me they'll just remain mere robots.

So what else do you propose we do other than petition then? Pay a load of lobbyists like the big companies do?
Sorry to (probably) seem extremely dense but what does MST3k mean?
now you could put your own amusing soundtracks to films! Any funny suggestions anyone?
