Doesn't this proposal just date back to the point where they wanted to split Microsoft into different companies - one of which would be for MS Office software?
" but if I was a RH shareholder, I would have been very nervous after watching that interview." - why would you be nervous? From what you've said it was just one exec who was unimpressive in his answers - he may just have been being realistic - and you're right a lot of eyes are on RH now - but you need people who like their job to make a company succeed - it sounds like this exec didn't - hopefully he's the only one.
Yes - that may be true - but they have done things since RH Linux was started that affected them. Part of this trial is about stopping them from further illegal actions too - they need to know what the things they've done were first - before they can implement measures to stop them doing them again in the future.
I might put out that there's a very easy way to lose weight (not mass) - just go down in a lift - losing mass as far as I know is impossible (short of radiation).
"Even without crashes and with the command line, it's still harder to use" - I thought the whole philosophy behind Macs is that they were easier than PCs to use - not the other way round!
I don't go to see films of books I've read - I find they always make it a different way to the way I imagined it. The imagination of your mind is far more powerful than Hollywood's special effects any day.
Isn't this just a cynical software developers dream of being able to write something that'll work on every platform without having to write any more code? Won't people's version of Java vary from machine to machine as well?
You've explained what SDL is - but what's Loki?
I haven't read any of the Harry Potter books - so that's probably why I don't know.
going to be any easier to code for the Linux platform than the other consoles?
Thanks - thought it was a LoTr reference - and then I thought there weren't house-elves in that at all!
And that happened to be the one BTTF film where there was total anarchy!
more people interested in astronomy it's worth it.
Where's it say in law you can't sign a contract if you're under 18 then?
It seems to be that everyone with an axe to grind against Microsoft (justified or not) wants to get their two cents in before they lose their chance.

I thought most people knew about this already - so what's so earth shattering about it?
Why doesn't Timothy post an actual review on slashdot rather than just about installing it?
Haven't we gone through all this in a slashdot story yesterday about Mandrake Linux?

Sighs at all the humour and goes to use his Super Low Obsolete Wave PC instead.

I suppose as the market for registering new domains slows down, companies have to resort to measures like this to keep going.
I thought they'd already got a 3G network up and running on the Isle of Man - or was that project already scrapped?

one of my favourite platforms - but sadly programmed for very little these days.
I'm amazed - if it isn't well I'll just add to the list of nice sounding things that didn't work out in the end.
Oh they're not bugs in our products - they're just user input errors. Yeah it's a bug - but if you buy the new version for £25 you can actually print!
