Actually, the fonts (with Xft2) on the 1.2.1 version of Mozilla look great. Install freetype, Xfree, Xft2, free-fonts, share-fonts, (and Gnome 2.0 if you use it) from unstable. I just did a clean install of Gentoo over the weekend and I can't believe how good my fonts look now. I didn't even have to touch any config files.
What he's doing is collecting a list of verified email addresses that an actual person has read or responded to. He then sells that list of real addresses to his "affiliates" for a nice profit. The original spammer may never bother you again but he's already made his money off of you. Read one of their "privacy agreements". There's nothing honorable about it.
It's amazing how many people don't know how to use a search engine. For example, if someone has an "error 18474 in mozilla.exe" they will go to Google and only type in "Mozilla" and "error". And then give up when the search engine doesn't return anything relevant. And it's not just newbies making these mistakes! The info is there, but a lot of people can't seem to find it.

Come on guys! The Slashdot summary is just biased bullshit. The words "dead" and "failed" never even appear in the article. All MSNBC is saying is that Linux is having trouble reaching the masses on the desktop. Are they wrong?
They also mention that Linux companies are having problems turning a profit these days. But hell, who in the tech sector isn't?
The only part that I disagree with is your statement that a cert will get you an interview. I was told the exact same thing many times over by different people and it never happened for me. Most of the companies that I delt with didn't see much value in most of the certs out there. And frankly, I agree with them. I think that certifications are good for showing that you have a base set of skills. But without the hands on experience, you're still going to have a very rough time competing right now.
Certs won't even get you an interview most of the time in a job market like this. Employeers want experience. And if you don't have it, then too bad. They will find someone who does. It's all about supply and demand and there is no demand right now.
I have 2 certs and 4 years of professional experience and I was unemployed for 7 months last year. The only way I landed my current job was by networking and knowing people in the company.
Communism works?? Why should I bother to do anything if my government is going to pay me the same wage and give me the same benefits as everyone else? Why should I bust my ass at work if I'm not going to get ahead at all? Especially when everybody else is milking the system as much as possible.
Show me a place where communism has been successful.
As a former Debian user, I hate not being able to do a painless upgrade of Suse 7.3. Give me a Linux distribution that's as user friendly as Suse with package management as easy and powerful as Debian. Maybe Xandros will be a step in the right direction.
Agreed. Storm had the best Linux installer I've ever used. It was very accessible for beginners while also having a lot of advanced options. I always thought that Debian should have adopted it.

Actually, there's some interesting comments about how the filmmakers and actors delt with the "incest" angle of the film.
I've been there. They've always ignored any question from me that they didn't have a cookie cutter answer for.

So how many of you still have your Pitfall Explorer's Club patch?

I never was able to get ET out of that damn hole.
