Im the eldest son, with a Techie father who's never around, a mother who insists she knows how to administrate a computer because she sold VAX's to companies in the dark ages, and two siblings who love to download the spyware of the week, All of whom insist they have administrator access on MY PERSONAL MACHINE so they can "Use it properly", allowing any ground whatsoever is suicide. Atleast im building karma for judgement day!

I have several computer games that need a cd to get in but have no care if it stays in. Blizzard says that you can do this for lan games. And you need a cd key per computer to play on battle.net, where most of the apeal of their games lie. So cd copies are just tools so that i dont have to run between my room, my office, and my basement game room when I'm hosting a small lan game. 1 cd per room makes it so much easier to play the games i love.

Reminds me of the old film "The Periodic Table" or something like that that I had to watch 3 times in chemistry. The one with the guy with the funny british accent and the odd elements with legs. They had a cool demonstration, reacting the diff metals like it one by one. Neat how it skipped. another great part, the diamond being disolved. especialy once you realized the background music was the theme to bonds "Diamonds are forever".

I am not a theif, not do i support theft, piracy, or any of that junk. But i do love these kinds of things. Network security has always been my fathers job, and while he dealt more with the software part, both online and offline security have always facinated me (Ever seen the movie Sneakers? LOVED IT). This provides a potential for misuse though. An effecitve theif could use a laser pointer to destroy the security cameras view in a bank. or use it when getting on a plane carrying a package that he got past security. On the other hand, it also allows you to disable some of the more annoying id methods by disabling the face recognition scanner at the superbowl. all in all, though, it may turn out to be a significat problem in the future.

I had a history professor who gave the class the asignment of watching "Monty Pyhton and the life of brian", "and the holy grail", and "Bill and Ted's Exelent Adventure" on three seperate weekends. Coolest professor EVER. Back on track, sounds like a good idea, but i dont think that UT2003 could easily be turned into a math game... Maybe a history campaign for war3, but i dont think joan of arc had to fight zombies. AOE2, on the other hand, did help with my history class, both with its acurate sets of events and database of what REALY happened (I doubt that machine gun cars destroyed that much of the japenese fleet...)

  16. I'm mixed on Are Written Computer Science Exams a Fair Measure? · · Score: 1

Writing tests on paper is not my strong suit. I've always used a computer since I was 4, and learned how to type before I could write my name properly (teb is still writen on all my papers up till 1'st grade). But when you have a teacher that doesnt know how to program, it doesnt matter whether its on paper or on computers. I had one quickbasic teacher when I was young who had no clue what I meant by a Case statement. she also insisted on using windows 95 machines loaded with every piece of scummware and crippleware you can find, and crashed every 5 seconds. Then, when my friends machine crashed as he was printing, she yelled at him for "ruining" the printer because of a garbled sheet that came out. That aside, there are times when writen tests can be apropriate. My one teacher stressed being able to work the code out on paper. His tests were writen and included code parts where you had to evaluate variable contents or output. For this I can never thank him enough. I am now able to work out what is wrong without a debugger.
