Yes, as we all know, Gamegears had/phenominal/ battery lifespans. It was a good dydtem, but the limitations the battery/AC adapter set were unreasonable, much how the PSP sounds to be turning out.
FFXI:O had a pretty flawless start, in my opinion. Very little, if any, broken content. Good balance, good variety of things to do, sprawling world. You know, the good stuff.
If you consider one company being branded "recommended" as the end-all solution for your gaming needs, perhaps you had better follow your own advice. Console games are far more forgiving in that respect.
That said, I do not see how any recommendation will *drastically* affect the way the game looks or plays. Ooh, so NVidia cards are slightly more optimized. "6 more FPS! In your face ATi!"
Seriously, WHAT does id have to gain by suggesting that the ONLY way to play is with one or the other, especially since the OTHER has made significant headway recently into the top tier cards. They'd be shooting themselves in the foot if it was in any way crippled or suffered any serious loss in gameplay just because you had the "other guys card." That's just stupid, and Carmack certainly isn't. It really would be foolhardy for there to be any drastic difference based solely on hardware. So ATi might lack a few extra FPS or something similar. So you don't get a coupon for a discounted/free game. Whoopty-doo. Buy it if you want, play it on whatever company's material you want, and enjoy it. Don't suggest that a recommendation is grounds for not buying a game. ATi and NVidia cards will be both fine to play the stupid game.
A recommendation is just that. 'Only thing I'm concerned about is whether it still performs decently on a GF3:-)
I don't doubt it either, as I have a save on my cart under two hours, 98% (that I remember--it's been awhile) without beating Kraid. This means, of course, that I could not fight Mother Brain and finish, but it's still fun to show people that he's alive with all that stuff =)
I'd just like to point out just how many people are willing to blatantly lie to authority figures, regardless of whether or not they are guilty, innocent, or stupid. I don't see how thoroughly trusting everyone an officer pulled over could be wholly acceptable, given that if you're committing a crime, the very last thing you'll do is admit it.
Number 6: Welcome friend, I'm number 6.
Number 15: I'm number 15. What number are you?
Homer: I am not a number! I am a man! And don't you eve... oh wait, I'm number 5. Haha. In your face, number 6!
Number 6: Myeees... Well done.
Saying that violent video games causes violent behavior is ludicrous. I don't recall a single instance of myself getting into any sort of scuth another person, nor do I recall whipping out a plasma launcher to shoot the nearest demon. There is a definate boundry between the unreal and real; it is when you cannot see that boundry that people do stupid things. Which is to say that the idiots shooting people over a game of counterstrike, replicating wrestling moves they saw on TV, or even just blaming a game for their own inability to control themselves is the real issue at hand. These are obviously troubled individuals who have burred the lines between fact and fiction.
Don't for one second imply that there is any correllation between observed violence in games and actual violence. I'm a living example, and I know plenty more.
Better business is to not be so buddy-buddy with your customers that are pushing their profit from you into the deep red line. Bandwidth does cost money, folks.
Some of the people cut off admitted to using over 200Gb per month--a far cry from your 8Gb. They also stated that they probably pulled more than that, as multiple machines were connected to the same line.
So basically, you give another person an idea.. they create it.. possibly become filthy rich, and you get to have your name on it? uh-huh. Bridge in Brooklyn for sale. Anyone buying?
I steal music everyday by listening to the radio. I might not be able to listen on demand, but if I wait ten minutes, I'll hear the same song again. I'm not paying for it before buying it, so I'm stealing, right? Just because radio is paid for by the RIAA's companies and Indies does not mean the consumer pays for them at all. In fact, I would extend your disgusting attitude by equating it with outright theft!
It is really absurd to say that because people listen to something they have access to without a physical sanctioned version on hand is theft. Pure and simple, I will say that I do 'sample' music. Just because I have listened to it once, twice, three times.. does not mean that I have stolen anything. SOME people go out AND buy the things they like. SOME people do NOT like the shit being forcefed on the radio and are FORCED to sample music lest they WASTE 12-18 dollars on crap they wouldn't have even thought of buying. Quite plainly, I am an informed shopper. I do not enjoy walking around blindly, assuming that because "JoeBob" band had a previous good song means that they are justifiably all good and actually worth twelve dollars in the future. I have seen too many bands shit out after a good album, and I have wasted far too much money by blindly plonking down cash for a product which we cannot possibly preview. Unlike other most products, music is something to be enjoyed without knowing you will enjoy it beforehand (games are lumped in, but most developers are quite reliable in their enjoyment, unlike artists).
That being said, would you go buy a car without knowing anything about it beforehand? Terrible parallel, but similar terms. Certainly not the same risk. However, it remains that 95% (remember, 89.7% of all statistics are made up on the spot) aren't given the luxury of being on air, and thus, have zero advertisement about the possible glory that is their music.
I, for one, would like to hear GOOD lesser known things than take countless gambles on shitty music. Maybe you like groping in the dark.. but I do not.
How about that it works on other platforms other than Windows? I do believe that Mac users, and Linux/other users/do/ enjoy playing games, on the rare occasion.
Almost reminds me of the Turbo Grafix 16. I seem to recall being able to play its' games on the go on a color(!) screen using the same hucards. The more I look at this, it REALLY seems like Nintendo is moving in such a way that we'll be able to use GB/A games on our GC^2 off the bat. Wouldn't it make sense (other than possibly eating into GBASP EX+a:)
Even if it was summed up by Apple's slogan, I would think that the recording industry would not interpret it in such a way. After all, if you can RIP the music, you obviously bought the CD to begin with.
I would think "Download/Mix/Burn" would be more like "Fuck you, Recording industry."
Chicago has been doing this for at least two years. It was annoying at first, but it is more second nature now. If you're really annoyed, some celphones have the ability to automatically insert the 1+area code before your 7-digit numbers.

If that were teh case, they would have said "Asian a plus." I assume they mean Japanese as a language, rather than a people.
I have to ask. What the hell justifies those system specs?
They could always go with Lindeaux or Lindeaus. Then again, the French stigma may be too great. =)
Lets (not) forget Mortal Kombat: Annihilation.
The only thing it annihilated was the possibility of more films.
FFXI:O had a pretty flawless start, in my opinion. Very little, if any, broken content. Good balance, good variety of things to do, sprawling world. You know, the good stuff.
Don't forget TNT and USA most nights of the week. Law & Order is like some kind of perverse addiction.
Try "Rise of the Triad." Best hallucination effect, ever.

Forgive typos; I suck.

Prices dropped today. The 3000+ is now approximately 220$, 3200+ is around 280$, and the 3400+ is around 440$. Newegg prices, of course.
Seems like the Anandtech review places it fairly highly as an FX51 killer =P
Yes, and now I'm a 24 year old serial murderer.

Do we really need more Jar Jar Binks wannabes?!
Whoa.

They make their money off of the first party titles and licensing fees, not the consoles themselves.
