    Portugal follows ETSI regulations, that allows only 100 mW max EIRP.

    But that's for personal use (either by private people or comercial entities). For use as an ISP, a licence is required. It isn't cheap, and only a few are available.

    Well, it's not compulsory to use their version of PAT. It's enabled or disabled in the BIOS. I don't recall the default.

    Besides, don't you think preaching against overclocking doesn't suit most users of this forum? :)

    1. rh+dvd-isolinux.tar.bz2, the isolinux directory, 9.3Mb.
    2. make sure full Mandrake 9.1 is in /mandrake91 and full RedHat 9 in /redhat9
    3. change redhat9/.discinfo, line 3, to 1,2,3
    4. for Mandrake, execute gendistrib --noclean --distrib path_to_/mandrake91 (gendistrib is in rpmtools-4.5-9mdk
    5. burn: growisofs -Z /dev/recorder -b isolinux/isolinux.bin -c isolinux/boot.cat -no-emul-boot -boot-load-size 4 -boot-info-table -J -pad -r -T -V "Mix" -v -f full_dir/

    I have a Knoppix DVD disc, along with other live-cds. (And a RH 9 + Mandrake 9.1 install DVD, if anyone is interested.)

    As far as Knoppix is concerned (or any other program), there is no difference in media but the size. The filesystem is, as in a CD, ISO9960 with rock-ridge extensions. (Normal video DVDs also have an UDF filesystem, but it isn't required nor does it conflicts with the ISO9660 one.)

    So MS doesn't have access to the WM source, but it does have access to Safari's source. Any undocumented "trick" used by safari should them be available to anyone, no?

    I had a similar problem. Under heavy I/O, my system locked up for some seconds and complained about lost interrupts.

    The new kernel (well, 2.4.21-rc8) fixed that.

    One workaround mentioned in the LKML is to disable IO-APIC.

    Bittorrent creates and truncates the files it will download at the expected final size, making them look like as if they were already download.

    Note that in Unix like systems those files will initially still occupy only zero bytes and will grow as more is downloaded.

    If you have a file you don't know if the download had finished, just re-download it using bittorrent. If it's complete, it will say so.

    It seamed pretty obvious to me (ie, I didn't get confused about which door was which), and, as the architect had said, the predictable one.

    Actually, the scene with the architect was the only one I enjoid, on an intellectual base.

    No, there's a violation if they distribute GPL programs. If so, they must give the source (for the GPL programs, inc. any modifications), alongside the binaries or when requested. At least, a written offer must accompany the binaries.

    It doesn't. Well, not in those words. Some people like to decude that from other texts, most notably "judge not, that you be not judged".

    Yes, but it's interesting to note that only after the "flood" (I don't know the exact english word) were humans allowed fish and meat (Genesis 9), and the curse on the ground was removed (end of Genesis 8).

    Here in Portugal the same thing happened, for that same reason. We switch from 115 to 112 a couple of years ago, though I still think of an emergency when I see the number 115...
