I can't speak for the other poster, but as a counter example, many finer ales are bottles conditioned and I simply do not see how they could ever exist as canned beer.
Cherry makes a low profile mechanical switch (Cherry ML e.g. g84-4100 keyboard) that could work. I have been waiting to see it included in some sort of enthusiast laptop, but as far as I know, no ones has done it yet.
I have a few sauces hotter than "Pure Cap". They are all rather unpleasant to eat directly, but certainly not fatal (unless I am a ghost). My favorite is probably Blair's Mega Death sauce. I believe it hovers around 550,000 Scovilles, but it is rather tasty as an additive.
In my company 4 IT/IS employees decided to test SP3 to make sure it was good to push out to our update server. Every single person had at least some issues, I was one of them. One programmer was never able to boot again after SP3 was installed. I had intermittent BSoDs that appeared due to newer versions of certain dll files, and the two others has a hand full of minor issues which prevented them from doing certain job functions (remote desktop broke for one). Just be careful before deciding to upgrade if you have a choice.
If you don't mind me asking, what python ETL software are you using? Is this something available commercially, through open source, or something of your own design. I have been looking for software to replace the ease of SQL Server DTS for quite a while and using DB2 (if necessary) would not be a problem.
I would think your choice depends greatly on the taks at hand. Personally, when I create web applications I prefer to use the MachII framework which uses the MVC design pattern. However, they are commonly tasks given to me for which this is simply unnecessary if the "application" is very small or very static. I know many programmers are strongly against ever mixing your logic with your presentation, but I like to think my saved time is valuable too.
Seriously, Giving some family member who has finally grasped the concept of Windows a drastically differnet (and expensive) computer and operating system doesn't seem like a good idea to me. I have had great success installing Linux (Fedora usually) on familiy members pcs. I just adjust a few menu's and place some icons on the desktop and I'm done. They don't have to buy ANYTHING, they already have a computer. Even a cheap Mac ($800-$1000?) doesn't seem all that cheap to me.
I dont see why everyone is bad mouthing Event Horizon. I liked that movie actually. It had a decent(-ish) plot, a geniunely freaky hellraiser-like villian, and had the girl with me scared out of her wits. Thats more than I expected from it to be honest so I wasn't disapointed.
I pronounce it solar-iss. That just seemed like the correct way, I have never actually met someone in person who knew what Sun's OS was called let alone that they even HAD an OS. I must be hanging with the wrong people.
Perhaps I am missed the point of the program, but what good is a p2p streaming network? I mean its great that its GPL and all, but most people just like to leech files not listen to streaming audio. I suppose this could sort of get around the whole CARP problem, but I don't think this is the way to resolve that problem
Does this mean that they may make drives with the same capacity as current ones that are smaller or put out less heat? I don't know about the rest of you, but any less heat coming from my laptop would be a big plus. My lap feels like its been slow roasted after I use my laptop for an hour or so.
I plan to take it one step further..

..and combine this water pc into my water bed!! Now I can be use my pc in bed without one of those crappy wireless keyboards!
I always fondly thought back on adventure and how much I played and enjoyed it.... Now after beating it in about 5 min I feel that I should have gotten out a little more as a kid. Damn you slashdot and your nostalgia killing links!!
I don't understand the concept here. Raise the general cost of a land phone line and how many more people will just ditch them altogether and use only a cell phone?
'Even if CMOS density follows Moore's Law for 40 more years, molecular cascades are still going to be smaller,'
Chances are it'll be more than 40 years until they could make an actual product with this technology so I don't think that I'm going to hold off on getting that new conventional cpu quite yet
Changing distance and time measurements are one thing, but changing geometric measurements like angles and such is a bad bad idea. I have no intention of relearning tons of the major math formulas...which I don't use.:-P
Our astronauts will be on Mars being careful so they don't bring back anything harmful then they'll sneak a few beers before they leave. Where do you think the trash will go? Thats right folks, theres going to be Marsians(?) that get stuck in those plastic six pack rings and suffocate!
I can't believe Best Buy would be so lame as to have unencrypted credit card information being sent around like that. I was always under the impression that credit card information was encrypted electronically when you made your purchase, boy what a fool I was. Why is all this being transmitted wirelessly to begin with? I don't know if this is the norm, but would it really be that hard just to run a few wires from the checkout lanes to the server when they built the place?
Do they use 9.6 volt batteries? Those battery packs tend to run out so fast, I'd hate to have to recharge my rats after only a half hour of use. That simply wouldn't be acceptable.
Alienware cases are made by Cheiftec and you can find them all over the place on the net. I just got one from newegg.com and I love it. Who ever said the cases were "flimsy" must have been talking about a totally different case.
As an American, I have never heard someone say either "gotten" or "mown". I hope I never do.

Well I wouldn't say that we actually "missed" it. I'm rather glad that I didn't see it.

I dont recall seeing much of an increase from agp 2x to agp 4x either so I'm no surprised

..a bunch! So the new phrase can be "Imagine a Beowulf bunch(tm) of those!"

Scary, I just finished downloading a KMFDM song from Kazaa as I read that. Freaky.
