Ok, I dont think Evolution is a load of crap, nor am I what you would call "religious".

I do believe in god, and I also believe that evolution and "creationism" are not mutually exclusive.

That aside for the moment, the thing science needs to work on is not "make it easy for those retarded christians", what science needs to work on is its consistency.

When I was growing up there was a dinosaur calle dthe Brontosaurus. Now, at one field trip there was a gentleman in the audience who asked the PhD toting paleontologist about some....oddities, the paleontologist then when on to verbally strip this man of any dignity he might have once had and proceeded to ABSOLUTELY ONE HUNDRED PERCENT DEFINITIVELY debunk the idea that this might not be a real creature....two years late, guess what "oops, we fucked up, no such thing". And I hope somewhere that gentleman found that scientist and punched him in the face.

    Moral of the story?

There is SO much science CANNOT answer, so much that is hotly contested, so much that is completely unknown and based SOLELY on "theory".

Yet getting the vast majority of evolution humping scientists to admit that they don't know, for example, where the universe came from, what caused the big bang, that they might be wrong on certain aspects, is nearly impossible.

The problem on BOTH sides is that nobody is willing to admit that they might not have it just right, because the other side will take that as blood in the water and they will jump all over them.

Me, personally, I don't KNOW where we came from. I am perfectly willing, however, to entertain the notion that god set all of this up, kicked off the big bang, and it has evolved from that intial action ever since.

It is not, in my opinion, impossible for a being that is supposedly all powerfull, to predict with at least some accuracy, that if I begin this process, with these ingredients, i will eventually produce these results. humans will come into existence, etc. etc.

The day you can scientifically and without ANY chance of being wrong explain EVERY single gap in evolution, and where EVERY single thing came from, and futhermore what CAUSED the big bang to take place, then we will talk.

In the meantime we are just a bunch of arrogant little creatures in something far to big for us to currently understand running around schools and websites swearing up and down that we do, in fact, know the answer to life, the universe, and everything (in theaters April 29th!).

Religion and science are very similar in that they are both followed by naive, arrogant, little people who claim to know alot more than they really do, and who are alot more resistant to rational thinking than any of them would admit.

I have no problem with the UN disagreeing with "what the US says" (not entirely sure what that means since its not like ALL of us are making the rules, if you would back off the attitude a bit you'd consider how neatly split our country is on a LOT of things).

And while were talking about this, you say the UN is better than a private company. I don't think so. Can you give me a list of some of the US-favored decisions ICANN has meted out upon the rest of the world?

Can you give me ANYTHING to backup your claim that a body of people that can't manage to stop mass genocide in certain african countries and is comprised of governments who have oil/arms deals with shady dictators (not saying ours hasnt, but thats part of the reason I DONT want the gov. in control of the internet) is a better choice than a company who has yet to perform any lewd acts of pro-US policy?

Your entire post boils down to nothing more than you don't like our policy, you don't like us very much, and you would rather see damned near anyone else in control of it besides us.

If it wasnt sprinkled with so much anti-us CRAP it would be alot better, but your point is weak, your attitude sucks and at the end of the day WE made the internet.

I'm not suggesting you go make your own if you want to control it but I am saying that maybe we should wait till ICANN ever actually does anything purely because it benefits the US before we start acting like it does.

ICANN is FAR from perfect, but going from a known imperfect controll to a known imperfect control who has no business regulating technology is not a step in the right direction.

Oh and: "Do you honestly feel that your information, and the Internet, is safer in the hands of a private unregulated "not for profit" US registered company that is given it's power by the US government and gives most (if not all) of it's contracts for vital services to US for-profit companies?"

Why not, for instance, put a triangle shaped series of head that has its narrow point towards the center of the disc and the wide end towards the edge. This would give you the same read speed at the center as the outter rim and if you made one big head (or a series of small ones more likely) the head would never move, thats less problems right there, the speed would be faster because instead of one head per platter that has to traverse the disk you would have a driv that literally anything on the platter could be read in one revolution.

We could cut down on the rotational speed, which as a byproduct we have tons of heat and an ever increasing level of sophistication from the bearings, a better lifespan because fewer moving parts and the ones that do move move much slower and probably have a higher level of performance.

Overscan (yay requirements from the 50's) lops off almost the entire taskbar on most TV's which, as you might expect, makes it rather difficult to use your computer. So you have to set it just low enough to be functional and high enough that the TV will still display it....all this and your arent just entering 1024x768 and the computer does the rest. You are entering specific frequencies and timings.

Another nice part of the DLP's is they somewhat account for overscan, you can set a mode on the DVI input to fit the signal to the screen that basically gets rid of overscan but not entirely....very handy.
