When I first heard about Ransom Love leaving Caldera/SCO I thought he did not like the way the where planning on treating Linux. Well this just goes to show that big business just does not care. I would like to see Novell take Linux to a place it has never been before. They have a great directory service that can take over M$ active directory and they could make it run on Linux. I guess we will just have to wait.

Here is the funny thing about google adds. I read those, I sometimes click them, I have even bought stuff from them. This is far difrent then any other add on the internet. 18. Old News on Crack Windows XP With... Windows 2000 · · Score: 3, Informative

Unless this can be done remotely this is very old news. Every NT/2k/.net admin worth his salt has known this since nt4 if not before. It is the something if you have a slack or gentoo cd and have local access to linux box. There is not much that can be done if you have local access. In my mind this is what is wrong with the security world today. A lot of people taking shit like this to far. This is not an exploit and should not be treated as such. You should note it and not let just anyone have physical access to your network.

Microsoft has been trying to make the same buggy code work for a few years now. When will the start over? I think the do alot right, but they do not to think a little more about security and change there code. Microsoft is so big that I bet there is not one team there that knows what all is in the kernel. That is wrong! I am no programer but I do know a few. I know they tell me they hate fallowing some ones undocumented buggy code becouse they can never figure out all the problam. This has changed in the open source comunity becouse of all the per review and support. I wonder why, with all of its vast billions, Micosoft can not come up with a better system. For now on all my systems that store stuff that is importaint I will just keep using *BSD and linux.

Why can't the US make such a switch? I know they have a lot invested in there M$ stuff right now but why could they not change. I think this comes down to people that run the software. We all know that politicians and a lot of people in government jobs are lazy and just there for the money or power. That is what I think is holding us back. Not to mention the lusers we have running things. They could never figure out why they can not get those .vbs files to work and not having to reboot every day.

I think M$ knows that it has done wrong and look for them to make a *Nix based OS. I mean what other reason would they even show up? They could try to use guerrilla tactics for advertising but I do not think that will go over well with that group.
