I like your reply. Honestly, I do, because I have seen countless people say that they're taking their kickball away from Usenet/BBs/mailing lists/whatever, and going home. Less than a week later, they usually come back. I hope Spaf is a man of principle, and does leave for good. Not because I don't like him, but because someone saying something and then actually sticking to it would be a breath of fresh air.
Either too many people are either applying the grease too thickly..........
Methinks the uninformed are simply using what comes out of the tube. Have you ever seen a tube of paste (besides the useless one-time packets) that actually dispensed what you needed?
But when it's illegal (or deeply unethical) you have a moral duty to blow the whistle, even if it's going to suck for you. You aren't allowed to put ethics aside because they aren't convenient.
Personally, I think that's easier said than done in today's economy. I think a lot more people may find feeding one's family and paying the bills a little more important.
I'd bet he actually is in Canada. While his auctions are priced in US funds, the shipping to Canadian bid winners is cheaper than the shipping to US bid winners by $1.50.
Students don't have much of a disposable income, and are bound to be ahead on the technology curve. I don't understand why they're being persecuted, because they are the ULTIMATE consumers of the future.
Easy. The industry has always been short-sighted about this. All they know is that they've picked a target with little resources to fight back.
It's an IT guy's job to stay on top of current trends and technology. Any spammer would be remiss in not reading articles like this. I can't help but wonder how many of them actually do.....
Might wanna switch the graphic and linkage on the story page. The WINE icon pretty much points to nowhere, since the story is linked to the MS category.
.... is the time factor. RH 7.3 was the latest version when the book went to press, yet RH 9.0 just recently came out.
I see the same problem in my hobby, marine aquaria. By the time an article or book gets published in the print media, it is oftentimes out of date. Couple this with the human want for immediate gratification and interaction, and it is easy to see why net bulletin boards generate so much traffic.
According to those particular engineers, "life-sized" simply meant a convenient scale. In this case, it was the floor tiles, which appear to be roughly 12 by 18 inches.
Because it's not Linux, it's "useless and outdated"? Call it flamebait if you will, but just because it's Linux, doesn't mean it's the best thing since flush toilets, sliced bread, pop-top cans.
The parent actually raises a good point. Can the captain stay informed enough in any given position on the ship to make command and control decisions effectively? I doubt it.

By nature, terrorists obviously aren't going to obey any laws... much less SOFTWARE LICENSES. This makes Windows a FREE OS.
Man, if that's the case, I know a ton of terrorists on my block. They didn't pay for Windows either!

Logo! I remember running Logo on my C64 nigh-on 20 years ago! It was almost like a computerized Spirograph. Ahh, those were the days.....
Psst, you forgot the obligatory part about Bill Gates being behind it all. ;-)

Part of the reason I play Angband instead. Constantly dying from starvation compliments of Nethack's RNG was too damned frustrating.
Angband's home page can be found here, but for some reason ther's currently just a placeholder up.

Could always just snatch up former officer's housing along the lake for relatively cheap.....
Not at all. But unless the seller knows WHY you're not buying, your stand is pointless.

So many of the things that people want to read are copyrighted, and won't be availble until long after we're dead.
I hear the one in 2006 is gonna be a third more erotic than this one - check back in a few years....
