    If they're going to mess with files, at least be clever about it. Take a lesson from the Barenaked Ladies' book - Take a legit file, and implant funny ads for upcoming releases in them. "Pinch Me" off of their Maroon album is a perfect example of this. Do a search for the track on your favorite P2P network, and you're sure to notice that some people note "no ads" in the title.

    I actually prefer listening to those versions now over the stock ones.

    Soooo, does this mean the attack was orchestrated from said country, or the peon's comprimised computers who actually do the attacking are located there?

    I'm not. Ask yourself the same question every time a positive Linux or negative Microsoft story is posted. It's the same thing. While Slashdot may have some obscure moral duty to post unbiased articles, there is nothing requiring them to. Even so, the readership will still post with the usual herd mentality.

    Exactly. As a matter of habit, I only share the directory I download to, and immediately clear it after the file is completed. Looks like Optimum Onile users might want to start doing the same....

    Thanks for the post. I found it one of possibly 3 threads on the whole page worth reading. The rest were filled with whining and rants. Sad to say I would have run through mod points in nanoseconds today, as there were so many deserving of the troll and flamebait monikers.

    I, for one, found it interesting reading, and eagerly await the day it can be done on my Marklin Z-gauge set.

    After a bit of digging around at SiloMan's coordinates page, it appears that that particular site is just off of Route 3 near Clayburg, NY, and can be seen in a 1995 aerial photo on Terraserver.
