i admit that I've never given snes9x much of a shot, mostly because I started with zsnes years ago, and it was fastest on my meager hardware, and so even though I don't need the most speed I can eek out to play snes games anymore(athlon64 these days) I'm still used to zsnes, and comfortable with it.
to mess with the competitions head, maybe it'll make sony or MS follow suit, only to be screwed over after nintendo releases thier console *with* a d-pad. Apple should start doing this, leak some screenshots of something that looks and sounds cool, but sucks ass in useability, and hope that the competition copies it while they ditch in before release. I'm hoping the nintendo revolution will have 802.11b/g wireless networking, maybe 5 gigs of internal storage, and a VR PORT, so that my dream of VR mmog's will come true.

And what's this talk about being undisciplined for not accepting death? That asian complacency doesn't fly in the west, we didn't have the bravery bred out of us, damned if my european royal blood will be "disciplined" for anyone.
If I had the money, I'd be interested in this FOR the genetic reasons, not some mystical notion of it copying the brain state/ experiences of the animal. Not to mention this funds the advancement of the entire science of cloning, which I find to be a very good thing.

That is a completely subjective and unverified argument you make. I myself can't use photoshop, but have no problems with the gimp, and that is because I'm used to it, whether you beleive it's possible or not. Anybody who started out on gimp is better with gimp and prefers gimp, the same thing with those who started out with photoshop(thanks to piracy, that is most people). People use your exact arguments against OSX, and for XP everyday, doesn't make them valid or informed.
Actually, I'd say it has more to do with no incentive for gamers to buy the gamecube broadband adapter, and thus no incentive for developers to take advantage of the adapter, and on the cycle goes. With Microsoft, they used substantial marketing and first party game support to boost live, not to mention built-in networking. And for the PS2, it doesn't have THAT many online gamers per system owner, and sony did do some developer and marketing pushes to compete with microsoft. If nintendo would have released something like mariokart, or metroid prime2, with the broadband adapter included, and good online functions for those games, they could have had something.
What I'm looking for is a cheap as possible laptop that has an nvidia video chipset, and no windows tax. I want to atleast be able to play UT2k4 on it.
With a radeon, your pretty screwed with linux gaming anyway. Atleast you didn't do like many people, claiming that windows is the only way, and not just your personal experience, and denying the very existance of people who use linux for gaming. I'm quite happy with my linux-only pc gaming experience and so are many others.
Nintendo calls it it's "third pillar". There will eventually be a GameBoy successor, that can play the older games as well.
Well, they said that months ago, before the DS proved it wouldn't be a flop in sales. I think it's safe to say that was a statement of insurance, that was dependant upon the success of the DS.And now every PSP fanboy, and anti-nintendo zealot out there are tossing this statement around trying to dissuade people from considering the DS. That's probably because a few american TV channels are avialable in canada. My cable company provides atleast 10 direct feeds of US channels.
