    Meanwhile newegg & buy.com will have a hard time telling the good reviews from the bad (Amazon can just check the Mechanical Turk logs). So what will Happen? Reseting the scores was suggested, which is great for Belkin, they get a fresh start. This seems like a win-win for them.

    I do this all the time. When I need help with something and I'm too dumb/lazy to figure out I post a 3 page rant on why it sucks; then sit back and watch the replies flood in. I say Bravo Missy!

    The more tolerance you build into the hardware the cheaper it is to mass produce (because you throw out less during QCing). So you run a loop to keep trying so people don't return something that sorta works.

    First, I can put together an AMD box equivalent to an Intel for about $200 bucks cheaper. That money goes into my Video Card and I wind up with a better overall System.

    Second, AMD clearly differentiates their product. An XP 6000 is faster than a 5000, etc. Buying an Intel CPU is a chore (and make sure you get the right board, That's not always clear either).Basically I'm Lazy, and Intel's made it a pain to pick the right processor.

    This is one of the reason why companies are outsourcing to places like India an parts of the former USSR, people there are too poor and desperate to pull this stuff.

    MS Office has to be updated separately from windowsupdate.com. I used to hate that. Oh, and the update engine is slow.

    You have to be wealthy and well connected to make it as a politician. They're are ruling class, not employees. You can occasionally join that class, but you still have to be in it. Otherwise you can't raise the funds needed to win.

    I doubt very much that Carly Fiori got where she is with skills and experience. More likely she was raised by wealthy parents, went to the best schools, was introduced to the right people, and has been a member of our ruling class her entire life.

    What's not fair about automation is the wealth it creates does not go to improve human civilization, it gets used to cater the the whims of 1% of our population.

    It's not, really. But I'm too weak a person to make a positive difference in the world, or even try for that matter. I'm too beat down by day to day life. These luxuries aren't what make me happy, they're what keep me from coming unglued. If it's pathetic that I need such worthless junk to face the next day, well that's because I'm a looser.

    Carly Fiori OTOH, isn't beat down by life. Her slightest whim is translated into reality to the limits of human civilization. She's secure, doesn't constantly worry about her job going away, her medical care being pulled. Doesn't ever wonder if there will come a time when she can't eat.

    You'd think people like that would have the simple human decency to accept a few incredibly minor limitations on their desires in exchange for massive benefits to millions and millions. You'd think that, and you'd be wrong.

    "It's his right to do so of course since it is his money". I think 2000+ years of human history has proven that given the chance a small group of individuals will hoard everything and leave the rest killing each other for scraps. Why should we let that happen? Why is it OK for Carly Fiori to buy a private plane when my single mom neighbor is about to loose her home because her ARM shot her payments way up?

    OK, I know from experience if I buy a 230 watt power supply & put a nice board/cpu/graphics card in the case I'll be lucky to post much less game. Heck, I just gave my brother an ATI 9800 pro because my Shuttle's 260 watt power supply couldn't run it. So why is it this guy's kill-a-watt reads
    Or is it just because there's a power spike needed at boot? I seem to remember reading something like that.

    Game manufactures will enable it for the first run of a games release when the only people buying it are enthusiasts who have working hardware or who can read forums. Then they'll pull it off so they don't have to deal with the headaches. By the time they remove it the Zero Day Warez kiddies will have moved on.

    What this'll really do is kill the used market. You're game disc is perpetually is tied to one piece of hardware. Right of first sale doesn't matter much if you can't practically use it.

    Food and Shelter are readily affordable by private individuals without the need to pool resources. Health care is not. Nice try though trying to fall back on old "capitalism vs communism" rhetoric though.

    Transportation is rapidly becoming too expensive to be privately affordable. I'd like to see public transportation, but people like you are making that tough.

    A taxpayer isn't a victim, he's a member of society. If you don't like it, go live in the Ozarks or something and leave the rest of us alone.

    Our current mixed free/socialist medical system offers ample examples of this in action, comparing and contrasting it with full socialist systems and with the historical record of a fully free system should be enough to convince any person capable of rational thought as to the more desirable direction we should be attempting to seek reform toward.


    Compare & Contrast what? In the current system, I know plenty of people trapped in dead end jobs because 'pre-existing' conditions aren't covered. There's a little girl who had a liver transplant when she was born who's having a hard time getting her meds to stay alive. We're past the stage when people are left to die in a gutter, or we should be anyhow.

    I think to point of his post was there's a difference between a music lover and a music consumer. You can still be a music lover and listen to pop music, but a music lover is choosier about which pop music he buys because he's actually listening to it. The record companies know if they spend $X dollars promoting a band the consumers will buy it, be cause they're buying just for the sake of buying. The music lovers they don't know about.
    Look at the early days of pop music. We laugh at how bad some of the major bands where. That's because they were marketing to music lovers instead of consumers. The record Co.es didn't know what to market, so they through stuff at the wall to see what sticks.
