  11. Re:Comparison to Objective-C? on The D Programming Language, Version 1.0 · · Score: 1

    Think as instances as message consumers and the [] syntax as a message sent.

    Java:
    quizz.addQuestion("The meaning of life, the universe, and everything"42);

    calls the addquestion(string,int) method on an instance

    obj-c:
    [quizz addQuestion:@"The meaning of life, the universe, and everything", withAnswer:32]

    posts a message for quizz, contents: addQuestion (NSString), withAnswer (int)

    then if quizz exists and it has a handler for the addQuestion, withAnswer message, it gets executed. if not an error is set.

    So obj-C is a strongly-typed languaged using a macro-based message-passing framework.

    IIRC the amiga game Zool was sponsored by Chupa Chupps, having the first levels 'candy-themed' and it worked nicely.

    It was obvious then that these ads had about 0 impact on the player, it should still be obvious now.

  17. Squid proxy = Homebrew injection on Wii Internet Connection Reverse Engineered · · Score: 4, Interesting

    Good news everyone!
    By setting-up a squid proxy one could be able to make homebrews appear as games requiring 0 wii points before being sent to the wii, which will gladly accept it as a runnable executable!

    Now we just have to reverse engineer the 'Virtual Game Console'. 100 say it will turn-out to be a Mame clone.

    Can't wait till the Wii gets released in Europe. Oh my :)

    Besides, we may even be able to stream a divx player using this technique.
