    I use a Blackberry, and I am concerned about this software, yet I cannot find any evidence of the validity of the claims, from any sources other than the original research.

    Can anyone verify that CIQ does indeed exist on Blackberrys, and if so, how to remove it?

    I see this as a mistake by the Chinese gov't. The american companies should come back here where we dont' have such (restrictive) practices.

    Why bother? I mean, making large format instant would be brilliant, but for all those old (and by old I mean ancient and obsolete) instamatic type cameras, why bother? They are useless, worthless, and the lens technology was surpassed decades ago.

    It's be one thing if it for, say an ancient Leica or Mamiya TLR that required special film, but for an instamatic? Why go through all the trouble adn expense?

    I was not an Amiga fan back in the day, but I have followed the story of Amiga on "x" hardware for quite some time now, and you bring up an interesting point:

    Mainly, I keep hearing about the resurrection of Amiga, but have yet to see anything ever shipped, much less a review or a place to purchase this new "Amiga".

    Do you, or anyone else out there in Slashdotland, have any practical experience with anything of the "new" Amigas?

    wow, way to miss my point *entirely* (and drag the topic into a political flamewar)

    The reason I used "liberal" in lowercase was *pecisely* to avoid the political version of "Liberal" (a title of a person in politics that leans left)

    Politics had nothing to do with my point(s), try to re-read it again using the correct frame of mind and get back to me.

    BTW, I've been in the school system, I know teachers have all the responsibilty and none of the authority to fix things clearly broken. I also grew up and was partially educated in Europe, so I know how the differences between school systems here and there, are.

    I'm *also* a parent and in my mid-40s, so I have seen 1sthand how the school systems here have deteriorated.

    And to the vet down below screaming at me about being a coward, I could not join the military (my father was a Master Chief) for health reasons (I have an auto-imune disorder that prevents it) and only have the utmost respect for those that put their life on the line daily, oftentimes for nebulous reasons.

    To the rest of you, comprehension, try it sometimes...or failing that, look into the SOLs. Here, I'll give you a headstart (heh)

    Schools get money in direct proportion to how many students pass the SOLs. Think that doesn't create in incentive to cheat? On the teacher's part no less? Think again. And that's just one of the things liberals (again, not the political ones) have come up with. NCLB is another...

    Back then, we didn't molly-coddle everyone and give medals to everyone for participation. We rewarded only the winners, the brave, and left the rest in the dust.

    Then liberals (note the lower case useage please) took over the schooling systems and have been doing their damnedest to make everything "fair", and as such, we have a generation afraid to take risks, expect to be rewarded for being mediocre, and generally a failure, yet have a massive ego issue. It's not wonder we are where we are these days.

    I've been using android since the 1.6 days and I've never had issues playing any movie or video right out of the box. In point of fact, it's the only thing that's impressed me about the Android OS, that is *could* play anything thrown at it.

    Anyway, I like VLC on the desktop, so a fully working one on Android would only be a plus.

    Not to mention that robots can't do as much as a human can. Not to belittle the accomplishments of Spirit and Opportunity, but the work they did could have been done by a human in 1/4 of the time.

    We (humans) can dig into the soil many feet down, who knows what's there? Rovers can just scratch the surface.

    The need for 'rocket monkeys' isn't gone by a long shot.

    Apologies for dis-agreeing with you, but film is most assuredly NOT dead, especially in the medium and large-format photography world.

    Heck, even the best dSLR of today will have trouble scaling images up to the size of the finest 35mm film. dSLRs have taken a chunk out of film, to be sure, but it is far from dead, despite what Kodak and Polaroid thinks.

    I'm a photographer, I *need* Lightroom and Photoshop (as well as Nikon's nifty RAW image viewer, as well as some specialized software for film scanning for my Mamiya TLR)

    Haven't seen anything even remotely close on Linux ever. Care to enlighten me?

    Another interesting film, though a tad less historical, is "Max". While the actor playing Hitler wasn't as accurate-looking, he nailed Hitler's passion in the final scenes of the film.

    that is used in food. Enough to accentuate the flavour, but too much and you overwhelm what you are trying to improve.

    All of which overshadows the basic premise: If your game sucks, then no amount of T&A, or gore, will help improve that.
