For example, in the 1983 general election. The top 3 parties (conservative, labour, alliance) got ~45%, ~25% and ~25%. The seats were distributed ~370, ~200, 23 respectivley.
The time isn't really relevant, as this is just when it will stop being manned and left on it's own. Not explicitly shutdown. So it'll slowely degrade over the weekend and next week.
It may not be such a good thing having this patented. Future 'silly' patents can then be refferred back to this one and say 'that one got accepted therefore this one should also'. And next time the outcome of the patent might not be so nice;]
What about all the people that arn't technically minded and don't want to download music? I don't see this working at all, because lets face it, the majority of people want to buy their music in a physical form of a CD with the nice packaging etc, rather than fiddle around on their computer.
Hmm, lets say you're storing it in standard VCD format, which is 1150kbps, with sound at 192kbps, that's 167.75 KB per second of film.
That's 13.822174 GB per day. Lets say Truman lives until he's 80. That's 402501.70688 GB of film, which is what? 393.068073 TB ? And that's just assuming one camera:)
No, you're misssing the point. DivX doesn't work like this, you can't play a partially downloaded file without it being run thru a progam as mentioned above. Even then you get a significantly reduced file.
A quick google dragged up this this article, which notes at the bottom:
"The list of finalists will be available in the May 6 issue of eWEEK and the May 21 issue of PC Magazine. Winners will be announced in the May 13 issue of eWEEK and the June 11 issue of PC Magazine. Winners will also be posted on www.pcmag.com and www.eweek.com."
I wouldn't be suprised if they hold back the information until it's been released in the mag, perhaps?
don't forget that they are going to have to cover the cost of checking up every applicant, it's not like some other domains where the process can be automated. This could explain where *some* of the $300 comes from..
And saying Pcs are cheaper is kind of silly because if it wasnt for microsoft's barage of new windows versions, most people would not need to buy a new computer every two years to do the same thing they have always done.
Oh come on.... the WinXP min requirements are something like 233mhz, 64mb? Which was available 4 years or so ago.
That is correct.

I would have thought it would be pretty obvious which candidates stood for who, based on their policies and what they stood for.
Of course, it's published under the GPL, comes with parallel applications, and is available for download as an ISO.
Which bit of this sentence didn't you understand?
Do you realise how ridiculous you sound?

Or $5 to get it on some CDR's....
No matter how cheap a $10 chip gets, it's not going to change the price for the consumer significantly - it's only $10...
This isn't going to change the end-user price - why do we care about this?

It's not going to suddenly disappear in a flash.
I think padme will probably get killed/murdered in episode III, and this will push anakin over the edge to the dark side... maybe :)
err $50 sorry.
What do you expect for $20 ?
Why on earth would someone want todo this when you can download a pirate copy of your favourite commerical RTS for free! ;)
Oh wait...
It may not be such a good thing having this patented. Future 'silly' patents can then be refferred back to this one and say 'that one got accepted therefore this one should also'. And next time the outcome of the patent might not be so nice ;]
But that's not fair to the big corps ;)
Life isn't fair. We all know that.

10 years ago noone could comprehend why you would need a 40GB HD, but look at what we have now?

Because if the levy isn't -vast- amounts, then it's probably not worth the effort for most people, especially as they're so dirt cheap anyway.
And saying Pcs are cheaper is kind of silly because if it wasnt for microsoft's barage of new windows versions, most people would not need to buy a new computer every two years to do the same thing they have always done.

As you can no doubt see, that's theft of game-player time from Nintendo
Err, since when do Nintendo OWN game players?
