What makes you say that? The budget is actually pretty good. $75 million is pretty big, especially considering that doesn't include actor or crew pay. Once you add those in, it pushes the budget closer to $100 million. All video game adaptations so far have been done for movie to date. That's what the studio's were balking on.
So if it all takes place in a sewer, it won't be due to budget constraints.
Last I checked, all Sonicwall's were business class. I think there's a big difference between "consumer" grade (D-Link, Linksys) and even SonicWall's low end.
Having said that, it looks like the ZyWALL's stack up pretty good against Sonicwall's low/mid end.
Per ZyXEL's home page, their ZyWALL 70 won Network Computing's "Best Value Award" and SC Magazine's "Best of 2004" award. Not too shabby. Also did a quick google search and turned up this review from Network World, "the Zyxel ZyWall 70 comes in a close second to SonicWall."
It's pronounced "Zy-Sell". They're the worlds largest maker of VDSL CPE and DSL routers. Also have a new consumer line you can buy at CompUSA. A version of the phone featured in the article is currently available through Office Depot stores.
$10m is actually quite large. Keep in mind this settlement only applies to NY and violations that have taken place in NY. This was done by the state AG, and not by the FCC. The next step is to pressure the FCC to investigate and start throwing around big fines for violating federal law.
Doohan did create Klingon. Sorta. He created the first ever words of Klingon, for the ST:MP I believe. Marc Okrand then used that as the basis for creating the more complete Klingon language used in ST:NG.
That's so Tom's Hardware. "7 Pentium M CPUs!", and no word about the algorithms.
Yeah, I wonder why Tom's Hardware didn't have much to say about the software and instead focused on the hardware that makes these beasts work... Hmmmm.
Its funny you mention it, I had the exact opposit experience. My friend had the Photo, and I had a Lazer Tag set. We ended up playing Lazer tag more often as it we found his Photon set to be more difficult to use and less "fun".
We also played outside in trees and bushes, and if I remember correct, the cords/harness of the Photo had a tendency to get snagged on stuff.
I was at the panel. They didn't mention anything about hell, but the movie is very clearly set on Mars despite what HomeLAN says. Also they showed people fighting zombines and demons. So I'd say either the movie got a serious rewrite after that, or HomeLAN was making stuff up.
"Take out these sentences, it sounds like you're threatening them."
But he wasn't busted for threatening them. Do you think a friendlier tone really would have made much difference.
"Resign first, make absolutely sure you have none of their information on your machines, then send this."
How would that have helped? They would still have sicced the police on him, and he still would have had his computers confiscated. And would a lawyer really have guessed that his employer would sic the police on him? I doubt it.
"Don't warn them, just contact the DA." Do you think the DA would have cared? They're too busy with murder, drugs and the like to care about some computer crime they probably don't even understand . Besides its easier to convict joe blow criminal than it is to go after a company with their staff of lawyers.
I think its also clear that his hope was that upper management was unaware of the legality of what was going on and hoped they would fix it. He obviously hoped to keep his job.
"Don't be a hero, just resign and keep your mouth shut."
That's advice I'm sure he got from many people.
Can anyone tell me what they do? I visited their web page (via google cache since the site is down), and can't figure out why or what they were harvesting.
Also keep in mind the typical judge grew up before personal computers, and probably have little or no understanding of computers or networks. It wouldn't take much to convince such a person that there was reasonable cause to think Chip had stolen trade secrets.
But would a lawyer have helped? I don't think so. They didn't go after him for the content of his letter or anything he actually did. They trumpted up some charges and sicced the police on him. How would a lawyer have protected him from that?
The problem with voting histories for members of congress, is that final bills that get voted on are very complex and often contain content that goes against the title and summary of the bill. You know that the person in question voted against the "Feed the Orphans Act of 2003", but you don't know why. Were they against feeding orphans? Or did someone amend the bill to include language to make it illegal to wear pink on Thursdays? There are so many bills that start off good, generate good buzz, do good things, and then either get gutted or have so much crap added into them before the final vote that they no longer do any good.
I wouldn't count Catwoman. Not because it was a bad movie, but because it didn't use the Batman comics as source material. They went out of their way at the beginning stages of the production to state it wasn't in any way tied to the comics or previous movies.
Kevlar isn't able to withstand multiple hits. Even a little 9mm will be able to puncture a kevlar vest if you can get 3 or 4 shots in the same area. I've seen older kevlar vests punctured by 2 shots from a.22LR. First shot was stopped, but the second shot to the same general area got through.
Not to mention, even if the vest stops the projectile, your body still has to absorb the energy created by the impact.
After all if I am going to pay a monthly subscription I would much rather have something that gives me content (W.O.W.) than something that asks the community to produce its own.
Um, Second Life doesn't require a monthly fee. There's a one time fee of $10 and after that you are free to play as much as you like. Now you do have to pay to buy properties and some other in-game items, however there are plenty of free "sandboxes" for you to use to practice creating things and show off your wares.
Ok, for you fanboys that don't seem able to understand what's being stated in the article (and judging by some of the other comments posted, there are a lot of you), here's a summary in terms that I hope you can understand.
It goes like this:
The console wars are like highschool. The fanboys and some idustry people spend all their time talking about who's got the most riced out car or who is the better looking. However, they are all failing to look at the result; Who's getting the most pussy? Sure X-Box might be the best looking, and maybe Sony's got the most riced out car. But little ol' Nintendo is where the real action is act. For all of the effort X-Box is putting into the game, they've only gotten a little pussy in Q4 of last year. Before and after that they haven't even been able to get to third base. Sony does all right getting the pussy, but they're putting a lot of effort into it for what they're getting in return. Meanwhile Nintendo is getting more pussy than they know what to do with, despite not having as nice a car or being as good looking.
And in the end, that's really the metric we should be looking, who is getting the most pussy? Answer Nintendo. And with a lot less effort than Sony or X-Box.
When the next gerneration comes out, it doesn't just go away. The PS2/X-Box 1 will continue to be big sellers for several more years. Heck, they're still releasing PS1 games. The PS2/X-Box will become the Honda Civic's of the game world, while the 360/PS3 become the Navigator's of the world.
The revolution is that Nintendo will have the only affordable next generation system on the market next Christmas. The Revolution was clearly designed to be as affordable to produce as possible. I would not be surprised to see the 360 or PS3 going for $399 or more when they launch.
Just look at the features of the PS3, 3 x Gigabit ports, WiFi, BlueTooth, CF, not to mention the RAM and GPU. There's no way it will be affordable.
... I'd never need to go on another date again!

I don't know of any cellular provider in the U.S. that doesn't cripple their phones, so who would I switch to?

What a standard says, and what a law (or case law) say may be two different things.

Why settle for the second largest mall in the US, when you can fly to Canada and go to the world's largest?

The developer of the most popular emulator wanted to integrate the CD key into their servers, however Blizzard refused to cooperate.

Already done, see Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns and sequel.
