Don't expect any real opposition from students... A lot of them just don't give two shits about anything, and won't oppose anything, as long as they get their degrees.
I can't believe how successful the Cartel was. Looks at us, we're enslaved by the woman's desire (engraved into them by the cartel) to have a huge expensive (but not valuable) rock! We're such tools!
Why buy a crippled DTV when we have perfectly good analog TVs, they are cheaper, and have more freedom for use. We, the consumers don't have to conform to what Hollywood says. They have to conform to us, and that's what will happen. There are many satellite alternatives to cable. Besides, by the time 2007 rolls around, the quality of TV programs will be so deteriorated, that it will be unwatchable anyway.
The answer is nothing. We won't do anything. We won't buy DTV, and we won't buy what they produce. What's Hollywood without our money? The truth is, we have them by the balls. We just have to squeeze.
Sounds like something that would get unlimited investor funding for the dot-com days. If I were an investor, I would run away from this with my arms flailing, screaming like a little girl. Using Linux as an advertising gimick is ridiculous for this kind of stuff.
So the moral of the story is don't buy movies or software legitimately because they'll just keep advertising and nagging you. I've never seen a ripped movie with any ads or warnings. Cracks often remove annoying popup windows to remind you not to let your friend borrow this or else you'll be a dirty criminal (It's like having another mom). So keep on pirating until they stop annoying us!
Okay, I really think the US military should use some of their powers to bomb the sh!t out of these m0therfuking spamming @$$holes. If someone went on a spammer killing spree, he'd be my hero. Why don't we DoS these mofo spamming companies?!
As long as they tell me it's been edited, I'll be happy (I won't buy it). But I can see how it can be useful for parents who don't want their kids to see any T&A.
Now, I'd like to see them start selling edited pr0n films....
This spammer doesn't deserve any sympathy. I'm glad his picture and address are posted everywhere. He is scum. He is one of the ones responsible for littering the Internet with garbage. If he disappeared off this planet, this planet would be a better place. I have no good wishes for him.
Dude, US is far worse when it comes to free speech. Remember DCMA (Or whatever the hell it's called)? And our RCMP (Canadian equivallent to the FBI) doesn't spy on us (or doesn't publicly admit that they do). US is becoming more and more of a police state. And Canada is likely to follow... because our politicians are tools.
What makes you think that the hackers who DoSed RIAA were mature adults, maybe they're immature 12 year-olds. I hardly think any congressman will pay attention to a teenager. So might as well DoS em. Good for them.
The problem is you guys don't know how to use Windows properly. Here's a list of things you should do: (My Windows runs perfectly after I followed these rules) 1. Take out any peripherals you don't need (ie - Sound Card, NIC, Modem, CD-ROM, Floppy Drive). Less drivers to install means windows doesn't have to think too much. 2. Use WordPad instead of Word. Or better yet, use a pen and paper, it'll lessen the likelyhood of Windows crashing. 3. Use a pen and paper instead of Excel. 4. Use transparencies instead of Powerpoint. 5. You shouldn't need FrontPage since you shouldn't even connect to the Internet. See Rule 7. 6. Don't install anything after a fresh install of Windows. 7. Never connect to the Internet. Don't let Windows phone home so it can download more bugs. 8. Reboot every 30 min. 9. Reformat and re-install often. Don't bother paying Microsoft support to tell you to re-install. I'm telling you for free. 10. Leave your computer off, unplug it, and put it back into the box it came in. This will reduce the frequency of unexpected errors generated by Windows.
He shouldn't put himself in legal trouble. That just more money that lawyers are able to pocket. Just post it up everywhere on those free web hosting services, and just get Google to cache it. There, the cat's out of the box and the lawyers have no one to go after. Everyone wins.
I can't wait until they accidentally attack Microsoft or IBM, or better yet, a hacker group. They can expect some major retaliation, legal or not. Maybe we can just contact their ISP and tell them to shut out the MPAA dnd RIAA.
The people who buy stuff from companies that spam should also be shot. This behaviour encourages spammers. If you're going to buy something from a spammer, at least go to the website manually, not by clicking that link in the e-mail. But most of the world is stupid, and does not know this.
I've read about this technology a long time ago. It was hyped to be the technology to replace LCD monitors in the near future. Now it's the near future, and LCD monitors are still around, and still expensive! But how cool would it be to roll up your 27" monitor and take it to your LAN party?
Reminds me of the time when Rambus tried to collect licensing fees for SDRAM. Then the FTC filed an anti-trust lawsuit against them. This situation is no different.
I'm not an avid Linux user, so I really don't know how good/bad the GUIs are in Linux, but I thought Ctrl-Z/X/C/V/P/F was already a given? Are these shortcuts different in Linux? If it is, it's just ridiculous, and is the reason why Linux doesn't make a good desktop system. As far as I'm concerned some things in Linux are far too complicated, even for me. That makes is a powerful OS, but doesn't really help with ease of use. A good example is the standard text editor that ships with Unix, VI. Seriously, this is a powerful tool, but it's counter-intuitive in too many ways. E-macs is equally complicated. There needs to be a simple edit tools, like DOS-edit. Nice and easy to use.
I think the government should take away all profits earned from VHS tapes. The MPAA wanted to take away VHS from us, lets take away their VHS profits from them and show them what it's like if VHS didn't exist.
First off, who the hell dual boots Windows 2000 and Windows XP?
Second, why can Microsoft force computer makers to use Windows XP instead of Windows 2000? Aren't the computer makers free to choose which OS they put on their systems? What a silly question, of course not, when it comes to MS, MS has the last say. Windows 2000 is just as good as XP without the MS spyware. Linux has come a long way so far. Although I think Windows 2000 is superior to Linux in terms of general use by normal ppl, by normal ppl, I mean not geeks like us who know how to use a computer. But soon Linux will par Windows and MS will be FUBAR. Can't wait till that day...

One thing that worries me in particular, is how Bruce Willis plans to escape from this elevator in the next Die Hard movie.
Here's the best and simplest solution: Leave an extra roll or two on top of the water tank of the toilet.
It's simple and elagent.

Sooner or later, they'll put up 50 page EULA at the beginning of every movie stating that X corporation now owns your soul (X = Microsoft).
Personally, I think that we should be reminded that God kills a kitten every time we masturbate.

Fire them, they're dead weight. Why pay them to be dead weight? That's what interns are for.

A developer trying to make sure their code works on both OSes?
Ah, I didn't think of that one. But typically, users don't need a 2000/XP dual boot...
