With this controller I may be able (at last) to beat my son at a multiplayer game. I can never get my thumbs to twitch like his, but this may level the playing field.
If not I can always nudge his arm every few seconds.

Star Wars Racer on N64, had a code to enter to enable 2 controllers. One for each jostick on a podracer, as in the movie.

This is a trial game to make sure they have the controls and gameplay working....then....

We will get the POKEMON version, where you actualy raise and train your pokemon before going off to fight with him/her.
Then watch the sales rocket (people will then dump their Pocket Pikachu's).

  5. Nintendo simplicity on Review: Nintendogs · · Score: 5, Insightful

This is another example of Nintendo's gaming genius. Take a simple idea, make the gameplay simple to get to grips with, but program it well.
The game has been well thought out with some nice touches, but has not been made over-complex.

Games like this show that you do not need a top spec machine with flashy graphics to run an addictive game. Some of the most addictive games ever made have been simple, but they have a hidden depth (playability).

Well done to Nintendo, lets hope they keep up the good work.

What will microsoft do, to respond to this update ? A version with IE, IM and Microsoft Search options (that cannot be minimised), or will they dig up a patent on the whole idea of desktop sidebars. Microsoft's new mission statement :- Google must be stopped.

They don't play DVD's like PS2 or XBox

Expanding on the comment above, most people I know that have the other consoles also have a DVD player to play DVD's, and do not utilise the Console to play DVD's they only play games.
Most games come on CD's not DVD's, so why did they need this. Nintendo has the right idea, small high capacity disks that are harder to reproduce - less pirate friendly.

  13. Re:A point about Mario Sunshine, et. al.... on Miyamoto vs. Everyone Else · · Score: 1

Did you read the whole article ? He has been at the forefront of games design since Donkey Kong. Most designers have been influenced at some point by his inovations in game design and gameplay. Where would the industry be now if not for his vision with Mario64 and the Zelda series. There may be better games out there, but without his lead we would still be playing Pong.

So all the IE bugs are because people have different graphics/sound cards etc. I thought it was that they wanted the world to have to keep buying new verions, and the patches were just to keep customers interested. M$oft have so many patches they should be run by Long John Silver.
