OTOH, ask someone in S. Korea what the internet is and they'll have a completely different response... or Japan...

Additionally ask the next generation to come online what is cool... I'm betting the kids that are 10-12 now will have a whole new fad they're into and MySpace will be for 'adults' which is perfectly okay by FOX News Corp... they'd rather have 'paying' customers anyways.

The solution to this problem was to lance it with a needle and then take anti-biotics, since the prescription I tried first didn't do a damn thing.

This wasn't a single prick... this was 10 to 15 jabs straight into the back of my throat with a very long needle, first with anaesthetics to numb the areas, probably 4-5 of those... then a bunch of 'stick it in and pop it out so that bood and pus would gush into my mouth' jabs ;-p yeah, there's nothing like blood and pus in the morning... and spit.

Finally the ENT MD. took a spreader, which is a set of tongs that spread things... stuck it into one of the holes he'd made and ripped it open even further, which is when the b and p really drained out... then he did it again.

  20. How do you verify 'under-18' on Congress May Add Record Requirements to MySpace · · Score: 2, Insightful

It's easy to verify over-18... there are various ids that can be used to provide some record which in 99% of cases will be close enough to the real person as to make it work for validation (think a kid using parents CC # to authenticate.. you can just call the parent up and confirm permission to use).

Under-18 though... there's no common ID in use. Which means that anyone over-18 can pretend to be under-18 at will. SO you can cut off access to adult services from kids... BUT you can't cut off access to kids services from adults.

Without further compromising the privacy and security via obscurity of the children in question.... through elaborate cross checking of credentials... there's no way to verify that a child is a child and not an adult pretending to be a child.

So finally there's some progress. First was the company in florida which has since sort of gone into hiding... they showed a solution of genetically engineered oral bacteria that would take over control of the mouth by out-competing the native breed.. but were engineered to not create cavities. Haven't heard much on that front recently though. Maybe they got bought up by the makers of Crest or something...

Now we have a device that can regrow eroded tooth material... well it's something at least.

Maybe I can stop thinking of the whole practice of drilling and gouging and filling in with metals as the most barbaric so-called treatments of any human health problem. Dentistry is still at the equivalent stage of just cutting off the leg when it's broken, rather than fixing it. Hopefully that is about to change.
