    They may pay for the broadcasters payment to the government for use of the airwaves, but they do not pay for the airwaves. The airwaves are not something that needs to be maintained.

    Is 'new math' the only attempt you can think of? If so, then you are practically proving my point. New Math was a top down thing, and I'm not sure it was designed with making kids like it in mind.

    'Best' as in the same as anything else. No one's trying to find better ways. Ever seen 'Sesame street'. Seems to me that kids learn stuff from that show without grades being involved.

    Someone once said that the psychic friends network was a sign that people sought the supernatural, and I thought that if they truly did seek out the supernatural, it would be obvious that the psychic friends network was fake. The main reason those psychic friends network succeeds centers around the fact that it lets people have the illusion that their problems are not their fault.

    is actually part of the problem, and what gets children turned off learning in the first place. Kids should be taught to care about the information. When grades are emphasized, the information becomes pointless. Think about it. Aren't you trying to teach your kid that grades are important?

    definition of things faith for example, used to mean a feeling you get from something that hasn't been correlated to the five senses (Hebrews 11:1, which has been translated into English since King James time, so that should be old enough) Now it means 'gullible belief'. That's the problem with testing 'spiritual powers' and the like. Everything conceptually has been redefined and otherwise attacked out of realization, so if it does exist, no one can build up enough spirit. Watch 'Key: the Metal Idol'. I think it illustrates the problem neatly.

    A turbo laser is a laser in which the power cycling takes twice as long so that when a beam is finally emitted it is twice as powerful. Now, I might not be using the right scientific terms, and my units may be a little off, but that sounds about right.

    I've found Circuit City to be worse, much worse. They've refused to accept perfectly good checks, take back merchandise under warranty, and been out of stock. I'm trying to think of other things, but can't off-hand. A Best Buy just opened here, and I had a better experience.

    While you have a VGA card and monitor attached so you can see what you are doing, delete the drivers for the video card and monitor, shut down, remove the video card, then restart.

Might makes right is often bandied about, but they have it wrong... It is right that makes might. That which is wrong is neither to be tolerated nor liked. Woe to the mighty who fail to adhere to what is right, for they shall soon be brought down, for their might came from their previous correctness. Do you think that Hitler was mighty because he was a Nazi. No, he was mighty becase he was rightly concerned for the German people, and brought down because he was a Nazi and hated others who did not fit his narrow specifications. Whether history creates the future or is merely a testament to it, we should act in accordance with that which affirms the future we seek.

    there are laws in place to prevent this sort of thing... at least I think there are and if the current laws aren't up to the challange there are people working overtime to draft new ones. Actually I like the idea of being able to do this, at least for your own purposes as well as the ability to post a patch so you can attach these changes to your own legally bought copy of "The Phantom Menace" without anyone having to shell out extra money to Lucas. That way Lucas still sells 'The Phantom Menace' and new things can be done with the material.

    If you take a controller apart and scrape the metal clean under the pads it will work again. The 2600's controller switches are a bit different, though
