    While I agree this is a nice step in the right direction - until we can get cars that 100% fuel themselves (not likely to happen) or can fill up with hydrogen/whatever at the local corner - I fail to see how these will get mass market appeal.

    I have changed several friends and family to mozilla lately, after cleaning viruses and other crap off their computer - they generally dont care what the browser is called as long as they can access the web. Do your friends a favor and upgrade them today :)

    I think the do not call list is a great start - it dosent hurt telemarketers because guess what? If I want to get on the list I clearly dont want to hear from them, thus Im not a good prospect. Telemarketers should be thanking the government for putting all the people that dont give a crap about their calls together.

    I have met many professionals that are biased on the desktop programs they use because they are the "industry standard" and want to feel like a professional. I good example is photoshop, I have had several graphics designer friends say they wont use anyother graphics package regardless of features because "its not photoshop..." How can opensource apps with their underdog persona get around this?

    The main problem, as I see it isnt even with using this kind of technology fro copy protection - its the changes in software licensing that will come as a result of this. Think windows XP activation is a bitch? imagine quicken refusing to install because your new laptops trust chip is different... :(
