Most retailers will comp competitors ads. We managed to get rid of our stock of brown zunes (all we had left of the gen 1s) last friday because toys R us had them (specifically the turd brown one) advertised for $79. Hanvt sold any other zunes since then that i know of. Plenty of nanos and 80gb classics tho. The microsoft rep was in the other day to check our displays, clean the 360 display or something, i almost laughed in his face. Woman came up and asked if we had any Wiis, i told her no, we got our shipment of 10 for the week earlier that day and they had sold out in less than 2 hours. He overhears my side of the conversation and is like "What sold out? zunes?".
I'm all for high def, but with something like relativly simplistic animation, it scales remarkebly well. Is there going to be any extra detail lost in the non-hd version? I have an HDTV, and i think i'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between a good digital cable feed, the HD channel, a downloaded divx file, or a DVD of something like the simpsons or other simply animated show.
I remeber buying that via one of those scholastic book orders in elementry school, box came with a cd inside, nothing else. I found the game completely incomprehensable. Have the SimCity 2000 Special Edition however that came with SCURK, still play it. Loved having the urban renewal kit, built fantastic cities, everything laid out symetrically, everything close enough to a road, evenly spaced hospitals, schools, fire houses, etc. For some reason though, these perfect cities never worked well, never could figure that out.
Although i prefer logitech, microsoft has a damn fine hardware department. Every keyboard, mouse and speaker in the house (aside from the home entertainment system) and remote control in the house is logitech, but my main pointing device, the place where my hand spends 90% of the time when im at the computer is a Microsoft Trackball Explorer, best thing i've ever owned. Wish they still made them, id buy a case of them. Granted i dont use it for FPS, have a logitech mx-518, but my trackball for everything else. I had a Model M keyboard, but it died on me thanks to a spilled drink, tried cleaning it, but to no avail. I'm using a logitech G15 for my main keyboard now.

Very few people are as principled as you give them credit for. Every time someone shouts "well im never shopping here again", i see them back within a week.
I meant in a more general sense, as in "What the hell do you mean you wont give me my copies of these school photos that still say proof on them? I'm gonna get you fired and my husband is gonna kick your ass." that i deal with on a daily basis. Not necesarily just returns.("How long does your one hour photo take?" is another good one.) Our company has policies for returns that employees will attempt to follow for fear of reprimand, but if the cutomer complains enough management will not back up the employee or the policy. Although our district manager was in today and she denied several returns, that although ridiculous, probably would have been approved otherwise. The funniest today was a treadmill the guy bought six months ago and dont have a box or recipt for, were supposed to take that back why?
I specifically work in Photo/Electronics. Last week we had this girl bring in a camera she had bought 6 months prior. 3 months ago she had tried to return it because of poor battery life but we talked her out of it because she was using alkaline batteries and not high energy ones. Came back with the same problem a few weeks later, popped it open, she at least had energizers this time and not "HEVY DUTY", but not the energizer lithiums we had reccomended and explained for 20 minutes the last time... That one was eventually approved, but she exchanged it for a different model that also took AAs, i expect to see her back soon. But is there any reason we should accept a camera thats been used for 6 months and has nothing wrong with it? Are we running a free rental service for digital cameras and other high end electronics? And this one wasnt even a scam, just stupidity.
Just paid my monthly $170 yesterday for 3/1.5meg internet, an HD DVR, 16 HD channels and digital cable with everything but showtime. Its expensive because i live in the boonies sort of, but its also worth it because theres nothing to do out here.
How long does it take to flip through the views of all these cameras, look at your projected course, adjust, look at your new projected course...
They're called bumpers for a reason. Well, they used to be anyway, some years ago manufacturers decided to take all utility out of them...
I was invited to the Tabula Rasa beta two weeks after i'd given in and started WoW. I Had been waiting and waiting for a decent Sci-Fi MMO, and tabula rasa seemed to fit the bill, but i was sick of waiting so i gave in and installed the trial of WoW. After playing Tabula Rasa for 2 hours i went back to WoW.
I just bought that a few weeks ago outa the $5 bin, i was plesantly suprised when i got home to find the WMV HD version was included, mostly because my DVD player is WM9 compatible.
I was scared shitless by the first gulf war, cried a lot, i was like 5, i didnt understand it wasnt happening here. Got my parents to buy me a globe though...
I think i read on here one time, probably in another voyager thread that the furthest human made object is actually the cap on a bunker that a nuke was tested in. Factoring in the power of the blast they calculated that the cap was blown off with such velocity that it is already quite a bit further out that voyager. Anybody else remember reading something about this, my google-fu is weak on the matter.
All the idiots with PS3s who buy Blu-Ray movies but dont have HDTVs? I work in the electronics dept in a retail store, and we get a lot of that. Even worse is people buying movies they've never even heard of only because they're Blu-Ray.
Mario Party 8 and Rayman look pretty damn good on my 30" 1080i CRT, this however has everything to do with the "art" and not the "graphics". Not to mention after everyones had a few drinks they could be sprites and it would still be just as fun. Super Paper Mario looks gorgeous, especially at 480p, and its all thanks to the artwork. Really though, i'm playing a GAME, if i want realism i'll go outside. Do we really want all games to be photo-realistic? Resident Evil 4 for the wii looks pretty damn good, expecially since the cut-scenes and things are rendered so they can be displayed in the native 480p, it may not be Resistance on the PS3 with HDMI, but if i'm killing zombies for a couple of hours, do i want it to be that realistic? I'd probably be sick.
All the men folk went outside for cigars (a good half hour), and when we went back upstairs, all the girls were engrossed in a game of mario party to the point when 11:45 rolled around and it was time to head to the bars, i had to drunkenly yell "Ladies, quit playing with my Wii!" to get them to look away. I cant see that happening with any other console ever. The Wii is a hit, nintendo has changed who a gamer is.
Whos ahead at this point. 300 was released today on both formats, and 300 is exactly the kind of movie your average person with a HD-DVD or Blu-Ray player is going to buy. Me, i bought the DVD and have an upscaling DVD player.

You all probably helped me out a lot in the japanese history class i took last year.
for the four PS3s there in the wild.

Have started coming with clear windows on the packaging becasue this sort of thing has become so common.
I work in retail, in fact the customer is frequently wrong as well as loud and stupid.
