It will just mean small software companies won't be able to write programs for Windows, while the big corps could still pay these royalties and rule the software scene on Windows.
There's only one thing that really annoyed me in the game... the fact that soldier you play can't hold aim, even when prone. Yes, it's realistic that you breath in and out. However, from my personal experience with rifles (same type as in the game), when you exhale all the air, you get to the exact same aim, and not wobble around like the in game. Moreover, we were taught to hold our breaths when about to shoot, to keep it steadier. In the game that doesn't happen. I ditched the game after being frustrated that my real life aim (not a sniper or anything, just a basic course) is better the soldier in the game.
A game can be considered hard, in the good sense, if most people can beat the game in "easy" or "normal", but only the true pros can beat it on "hard", "insane", "impossible".
For example in the FPS world Doom1 or Serious Sam. The former with "nightmare" mode and the latter with anything above "hard".
And well.. games like NetHack are hard, but people keep coming back, to try to finish it. If it was just frustrating, they won't have come back.
Torrents are still not as fast as a good XDCC bot (read: a 100mbit/s, 50-100 user bot), yet they come close, when a release is REALLY popular and even a channel's 15 bots die.
Not Mortal Kombat, but I've seen people spend over 2 hours on a single credit. One time it was a fighting game (killer instinct) and the other time it was a pinball game where he got the "free game" like 10 times in a row (and setting high scores each time..).
"out of most hentai games"... not out of most, but out of a significant number of them. And it's "getting a story out of the game", the game was made with a story, the H parts are there just to please the appetite.
Ofcourse you won't see a TV show or movie based on PORN, but you might see a movie based on a show that has story and once in a while has sex scenes.
It's like movies, that have stories, have sex scenes in them even if they aren't explicit.
I've watched Popotan, KGNE (kimi ga nozomu eien), Shingetsutan Tsukihime and Da Capo.
* Popotan is very cute with lots of ecchi scenes, not X rated tho... * KGNE is drama and has some very strong dramatic scenes, very good. Again the originating H source isn't noticed. * Tsukihime is a very nice and intense story about vampires. If I wouldn't have known it's based on an h-game, I could never have guessed. * Da Capo is a nice bishoujo (pretty girl) anime, with a guy or two and many pretty girls and all of them like that guy... in the start it's cute and simply shows some standard life scenes... later on it becomes moodier and more interesting.
Yes, of the english translated games. Those games are those with less story and more hardcore action.
The games that are very popular in japan don't get translated cuz the licensing fees are too high, and the US market won't really buy them as much as they sell in Japan.
In Japan, the market for adult games is huge. Games where you play the role of, usually, some dude and meet many pretty girls. Obviously, if you play well you eventually get it on with them, but many of the games are much deeper than that and actually have immersive stories and the adult aspect of it is nice but not a main selling point. It would seem though, that usually the Hgames that get translated aren't those with the immersive stories, but rather the best adult action parts, to fit the US culture. (regardless that many of the games include things that are on the boundry of illegal in the US, such as teens and younger) Not only that, but some games are so popular that a TV anime series is produced and usually very successful, even if it isn't adult oriented.
dunno about movies, but there's a fair amount of h-games that turned into excellent anime shows.
But then again, no matter how good a game is, if it falls to the hands of holywood, it will most likely suck.
Just not screwed too tight, or cracks will appear.
Oh wow! that truly is innovative!!!! ;)
If I had a PS2 and a girlfriend, I would have most certainly get that
"sssh!! time to run and patent this brilliant money-making idea!!"
;)
For some reason I read that as a "monkey-making" idea. It also seemed correct
TPAGLLUANKOEDCT (The parent and grandparent look like using a new kind of error detection checksum thigny)...
In soviet russia, Windows doesn't like you! ;)
In the rest of the world, it's you that don't like Windows.... Actually that stands also for russia
Not only that but Halo was first intended for the PC and not the XBox. It took some work from M$ to convince them to make it an XBox title.

According to the Guinness record, the loudest scream was 129 decibels.

If we're talking gaming here, the red armor is the best, at a whooping instant +200 armor!
Heh... now i'm waiting for one of the editors to reply ;)
Actually, the file listing shows around 100 source files in the paintbrush directory. The Qt/KDE equivelant would be something like what... 10 files?
Use the Win32 version of gvim!
hmmm... these files seem familiar...

It's only reasonable that software with so many holes will leak!

The best way is F2... you're gonna use the keyboard anyways, so why not use the keyboard shortcut?
