I've got a piece of medical tape attached to my arm right now (3rd time this week getting bloodwork done) - trust me, it *will* hurt when you are furry/hairy.
I'd never heard of google health before, but I guess it's because here in Denmark, the service is build into our public healthcare.
Any medicine taken in your lifetime (that requires perscription) is registered automatically and can be pulled using your social ID and your "nem id" (password + onetime keypad).
The Phalanx doesn't agree with your statement - that thing can take out incoming mortar fire - yes, swarming it from close range would be probably be a problem, but I seriously doubt the Iranians would be capable of doing that.
Personally I never go see 3D movies, I don't think it adds anything extra to the movie and since english isn't native language around here the movies gets subtitles; in 3D subtitles *sucks* - they hover somewhere in the middle distance and it really fucks up your vision - in normal movies it's fairly easy to ignore subtitles; but in 3D they are impossible to ignore.
I once in a while hit cinemas for their 2D movies, but to be honest, it just doesn't feel like you get your moneys worth - 2 people going will easily be somewhere in the neighbourhood of $50; will last 1 1/2 hour and be some bland easy to guess plot.
Extremophiles will hang around even after extinction level events - those things are currently living in the most acid, heated places of our planet; granted, if earth got stripped down to its core by a local supernova or our own star decided to call it a day life would have a hard time, but the sky turning black and oceans turning red wont be enough.
Are you seriously suggesting that the bolts yanks use are created to a 1/1000th of a cm perfection?
Screws, plugs and nails are messured in cm (actually mm); only bolts (and then only some) are meassured in inches and I suspect it might be because manufactors are shipping to the entire world and most places can live with the conversion from Inches to cm, but not the other way...
It's not because we don't know how to render serverside.
For years upon years crappy PHP programmers have been killing servers with bloated badly coded dynamically "rendered" pages.
These days you can have people doing what they do best; front end doing JS/design, backend doing data processing. Yes, some pages will be blank without JS enabled - but to be honest, we don't care. Having to maintain a seperate code tree for the nutjobs who doesn't like JS is simply too much of a hassle.
Since the patents are software related and the EU does not recognize software patents, I'd say it would be extremely unlikely that BT would even get a court date in UK.
The reason why we don't want to use GPL is it forces us to open up parts of a project that might not be permissable opensource - for me it's not my belief for or against GPL, it's just the fact that I can't link GPL'ed software to software I buy, because I don't have the option of opening up everything.
Look at Dan Brown, his books are absolutely bogus and downright wrong, but they sell. People don't want to read "real" they want stuff that works in the plot.
Don't use page after page about how this thingie magic spins and creates normal gravity - it's there, it's done; flip of a switch and gravity is normal, smack into a small roid and your hero needs to go space walking to fix .
Also remember to have your usual team, one black guy to sacrifice, one hotty for the hero to score, a scientist, someone plotting to make everything blow up (a nice twist would be a mormon or scientologist?) and one hero.
Head for Europe (moon, not continent) and find underwater starbases or whatnot. Look at what Charles Stross has been doing with the Atrocity Archives series, really good books, based on earth with "believable" twists.
If I have your mobile phone with access why would I bother trying to get to your creditcard when I can get pretty much anything I want - it has access to E-mail, SMS, friends and family.
I could just try and grab all your passwords, getting to your online email client before you do I can probably change settings enough for you to be unable to quickly recover anything. From that point I can start initiating scam mails at your friends and family.
Having a credit card number is only useful for a limited time; having access to all your personal data will enable an attacker to keep stealing.
I'm starting to believe that the cell phone companies are charging differently based on street address and zip code, as well.
Actually that's not a bad idea, it is wastly cheaper to run networks in big cities than rural areas and the competition is so hard many places (EU at least) that charging based on location might soon be back in the game. (Here in Denmark some carries used to give you discount if you where using your mobile from your home (based on the towers closed to your home).
It's been on display in many a bookstore, so anyone buying and reading a lot of books could easily have seen it for sale.
And the reason why people would by it is the same as why people buy the book "The mole who wanted to know who pooped on it's head", it's a fun book and you just might learn something.
Considering you don't know where I'm from, I'd say you are talking BS.
But yes, I do in fact know the penalty for illegal immigration, if the origin country is safe to live in you will be put on a plane and flown back - if it's an unsafe country you will be allowed to stay on a "tollerated" basis, e.g. put in an "camp" with people with same trouble, given food and shelter.
Personally I don't mind advertisements, what I do mind is having to wait for some third party site to deliver the ad before I get to view the page. I also hate the fact that advertisements aren't vetted by the site owner, thus allowing it to be a method of virus delivery etc.
Want me to view ads? Host them and vet them yourself, my adblock only blocks external sites (The daily wtf for instance shows ads).
Think the same goes for quite a lot of places around Europe; Just checked my own IP and nothing shows up, if it had I'd emailed forbrugerombudsmanden and complained.
Ever considered Apple knew they where in hot water and started firing suits to make sure they had something to settle with?
Missing RAND license means no ability to do anything on a mobile network; having patents for the defacto way of making mobile device design (whether we like it or not, they have the patents), gives them a bargaining chip.
Granted, it might very well be Jobs was being an arsehole.

Well there is your plot for 24 hours. Terrorists fracking the San Antonios fault.

No, still not true, no matter how many times you try to FUD it.
Yes it's a first to file system; however, prior art does still apply.
Makes you wonder if I was referering to that or it was totally random, eh?

Same experience for me; OpenJDK just doesn't work.

Oh, I'll take 25% for the ideas if you use em.

Go ask Hugo Chavez, he has some very noble ideas and they seem to work.

Really? So the guys at Gitmo and those in prison are glad to be where they are?
Trolling aside, your border agents will detain illegal aliens *leaving* the US; so you are not as free to leave as you might think.

So if you do bad once in your life, you can never become good?

Rounded corners, flat front, black bezel (or whatever it's called) and aluminium edge - yes it's thick, but rest of the design is on par with iPad.
