    for $500 I can get the palm zire and a 10gig iPod. i'll just wait until the iPod supports ogg. With 10 gigs of space, just encode your music at 320kbps to get the same quality as ogg.

    Coincidentally, Mouse's self portrait, available on his Web site, resembles Mickey Mouse's seedy sibling, down to the white-gloved hands and big black shoes.
    Disney was not paying attention to him, now he just drew attention to himself. I have a feeling Disney will come down on him and his "self portrait" as a countersuit.

    when you have a power outage and you have no backup UPS? do you lose everything on it? Macs old and new, had the ability to do just that, but its biggest problem was losing data on it upon reboot or if you had a system crash.

    according to the article:
    if you get a moderate size disk you have to divide it into smaller partitions, which is a nuisance.

    I'm sorry, but I have an 80gig drive. If I need between 40 to 80 partitions (between 1 and 2 gigs each), it's not just a nuisance.

    on how well a person multi tasks. Overall, It's the same speed as windows, except when surfing the web. I can get it to render pages as quick as windows using icab or opera, but it will also be as ugly as windows when displaying the pages. For everyday work and for the average joe, it should be sufficient. The OS will be a welcome change. It will be the first time they experience the proper way to do plug and play.

    All they have to do is make it completely compatible with Adobe's PDF format and give it away for free, bundled with MS Office. By the time they have version 2.x around, everybody will start using their version of "print to pdf". it will still be compatible with Adobe's PDF, but it will come with "enhancements" that acrobat reader can't read. This time they'll release their own reader. By the time version 3.x comes around, they will have embraced and extended the pdf format and at the same time obliterated the competiton.
