naturally someone had to bring 'this' up. the fact is there's no way to be totally safeguarded from an attack by someone who has issues with your country. the best thing for a government to do is try to refrain from making enemies, and the best idea for a private citizen is to get on with your life and go about your business without constant worry. widespread paranoia in the public doesn't do anyone any good, save for those manufacturing gas masks, bomb shelters, or war.
i didn't dismiss all who died. i said the targeting of the world trade center wasn't centered around american citizens as a whole. i don't believe in violence as a solution, and killing is killing, plain and simple- but the world trade center was THE icon of western imperialism, regardless. why don't i deserve to live in the USA? seems i value my freedom of speech quite highly and i haven't thrown jabs at the core of the country, just the disease it has become.
i don't hear them cursing my name personally, only the names of the politicians that were [supposedly] elected to 'represent my interests'. oh yeah, and sometimes leaders in the religion business. i don't hold the same beliefs as those chaps, so i don't see it as an attack on myself so much as a society that deserves to be attacked. i don't see random residential areas in the USA being bombed by extremists. the world trade center was an icon of a culture that doesn't do a hell of a lot of good for anyone but the wealthy fops who partake in it. being that i wouldn't make a very good target, i'm simply not afraid.
they don't hate me. they hate the way the US government is exploiting and/or destroying them, and i tend to agree. i believe in the right to bear arms, but i don't believe that right should be exclusive to my home country. the fact is, if they didn't have a reason to hate us, the weaponry would be a non-issue.

if you adopt and parent a child, that kid is as 'yours' as any lab-bred child, and depending on your viewpoint in regards to the way scientific advances affect our lifestyle as a species, possibly moreso. it's not so much 'stupid' than it is misguided, really. that was, i admit, a rather cynical choice of words on my part.
god knows there are plenty of kids who need homes, and while there's that certain [stupid] ego-stroking factor of having a kid born in [about half of] your genetic image, what about... you know- doing something good for someone who NEEDS it rather than contributing to the overpopulation problem?
i've been a gamer since i was a child, but i admit most games today can't hold my interest- but i've logged 5 days in a game before- but still, it's just a game, something to distract me.s
really, i doubt we'll ever see a lawsuit for a kid losing his saved game. be realistic- how important is that to any sane person? to most people, it's just a game, but more importantly, what judge would take such a case seriously?
but i'm inclined to believe they didn't even play the game, since the way plok actually plays is pretty unique and while not exceptionally FUN, you can do a hell of a lot worse. plok himself isn't a totally empty character, and he shows a good bit of emotion at the end of the level when the wrong flag is up the pole, plus there's the frontside pocket which makes plok seem to be groping himself- how can you not get a kick out of that?
maybe because with this new fraudulent war we're kind of reliving vietnam, and there's money in games based on the same type of combat, but companies worry about being 'distasteful' by releasing Kill Saddam: The Game at the moment.
the unrelenting patriotism should soon give way to realization, disgust, and ultimately change- at least, i hope.
if republic is honest about the belief systems and values of different political factions, it'll do a lot of good in getting people interested in the politics that police their everyday lives. hopefully.
it sounds like a commercial to me, the fact that the discovery channel is airing it and apparently trying to pass it off as a documentary leads me to question the credibility of anything the discovery channel airs.

ASCAP? it's either The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers or the informal cousin of the asshat.
>Try telling that to the latinos in their 1992 Honda Civics. They will cut you - fool.
news for racists, stuff that matters?
why the hell is a cat in the studio?

this is the type of movement undertaken only by not-quite-right humans.
humanity isn't relative. no life is worth more than any other.
and you said i was insensitive, you're calling for genocide.

yeah, that's our right as citizens of the good ol' US of A, nobody else's.
word. so, from a darwinian viewpoint, what does it mean if your husband has a low sperm count or your wife is infertile?

disney owns at least one record company that is PART of the RIAA if i remember correctly..
there can be only one.
that just depends on exactly how 'alternative' the media in question is, i'd imagine.
