As someone who wasn't alive during the Apollo years, it's pretty exciting for me to see a company that might actually make travel to space sustainable. I may follow Elon in retiring to Mars yet.
As a windows user I'd like to see a big player like Mozilla release a standalone updater that all the other software can use so every app doesn't have to check for updates on its own and use its own halfassed update method.
Isn't that basically what parent was saying? I might be missing something but a one time improvement of at most doubling the speed doesn't sound that impressive to me. There's a lot to be said for optical interconnects but putting your RAM 20cm away from the CPU instead of 10cm doesn't seem revolutionary.
Personally I'd rather see pristine copies available online for anyone who's interested than someone dropping a quarter mill on a bunch of pages stapled together because they're old and scarce.
I experimented with VB in highschool, I'm not proud of it, and It felt wrong while I was doing it, but I am a reformed man now and I don't care if anybody knows.
I don't get what you're trying to say. Anyone who's talking about terraforming other planets is either a sci-fi writer or an academic writing a "If we someday had to do this, this is how we might do it" paper. As for living in enclosed environments you can see several examples of that, most prominently the ISS as well as some underwater experiments and those biodome thingies.
If you're expressing some sort of sentiment about leaving the moon or mars dead and barren and pristine environments then I'm very much opposed and I'd rather see Mars become a giant landfill if that meant some bacteria got a chance for life if we didn't make it.
I've stripped my UI to just the menus I need, the address bar and the search bar, for back I either use the mouse or backspace when I'm feeling fancy. It's quite amusing to see someone else try to use it, though on the downside I don't have a girlfriend anymore.
Microsoft is a true innovator in the field of error communication, first the BSOD, then RROD, now GROD? The only thing I can think of that comes close to their market penetration is the 404.
Alright then, how about "What's the point of developing toxins if the bugs that are eating you are going to develop an immunity anyway?"
The original argument seems to assume some sort of group that would troll at all costs. I believe that once you remove the low hanging fruit (sort of pun sort of intended) of being able to display one's penis a lot of those people would just give up or find someplace where it's easier.

Maybe they just prefer Picard over Kirk.
It may be a useful test but watching This Is Spinal Tap is a painful experience and should be avoided if at all possible.
Yeah, and they're not even acute angles, what a bunch of pussies.

A moderate amount more than the temperature at which paper burns.
They might start with MP3s and Youtube but once they're hooked they'll go to FLACs or even make their own uncut stuff.
Your neighbor might be running an oscillator lab in his basement and you don't even know it!
I had no idea ZDNet still existed.
I've been doing the reverse for years.
What are you talking about?
It's a well established way to kill someone.

If you view it on Youtube they've conveniently added a button that adds the sound of vuvuzelas, if that makes it more authentic.
First Photos From the European Solar Deathcannon?

People are still going to die in car crashes so what's the point of using seat-belts and airbags?
Probably something along the lines of "Nope, not seeing any bees around here either".
Tie it to a paper plane?
Are you mad?
That would mean the virus is airborne!
I'm looking forward to see the new advances made in prerendered gameplay since the last one.
Someone should set up a torrent for that.
Ubiquitous like a Zune.
