Honestly, it just hasn't been all that exciting and great recently. Star Trek 10 was supposed to be this huge movie with grandiose themes and all. It was kinda lame and it felt like the star-trek wagon's wheels were falling off. Not to mention Enterprise....blech....
There comes a time when you just let a thing go and have its legacy.
Psst, this is Slashdot. See the top of that webpage? It says news for NERDS. Most of us dont give a flying f*** about letting the world know about our nerdiness. In fact, we are proud to show for it.
What about this built into a celphone-pda. I've always said that I would buy one of those when they get at least 5 megs of storage for MP3's. This would help reduce techno-clutter, and make life a little easeir
I dont knwo what these other guys are talking about. I tried to install Debian no less than half a dozen times, and each time there was several key libraries missing and I was unable to run X. In fact, it barely ran on its own without X.
I'm sure theres alot of l33tz0r folks out there who dominate all over the Debian installation, but I have better things to do with my time than to waste any more time with that distro.
Shortly after that, I tried out Redhat 8 and Mandrake 9, and Im using redhat 8
Another point is making mix-cd's. I recently got U2's best of 1990-2000. I didnt really feel like importing the version from England with one extra track, so I made my own version *COMPLETELY LEGAL* with Achtung Baby and the Best Of.
This is one of the most devious things I've seen in a while! I love it!!. It reminds me of old shareware PC games, where you could hit the F9 key to escape to a DOS shell, so you wouln't get caught at work. Hugo's House of Horrors anyone?
I agree, it seems just a smidge ghettofied at first look. You have to use their proprietary paper, etc.. If it could have an "activate record" button, and work on normal paper, I might consider it (for school).
But then again, why use something like this when 1st gen. tablet pc's are coming out, which will probably be FAR more useful.
So RMS went a little overboard with the Gnu/Linux crap. Big deal, he spent alot of time reinventing UNIX so we could all use it for free, and he wants a little credit.
Your post is offtopic anyway, he's not talking about GNU/ anything. He's simply telling people that Microsoft's Palladium is a big steaming pile. There's nothing wrong with rallying up the troops for something like this.
Well according to the x10 ads, the camera is designed for "fun...". So I would assume that he is using it for "fun...," and not for racing. You see, "fun..." doesnt necissarily mean lightweight or raceworthy building.
I might go get one, I hear they're lots of "fun..."
What I want to see is...

Or "the Hawkman" for those of us down with his rap albums

Sometimes....things just need to die.
Lets go ahead and bury this joke, right beside the word "def" and the career of Vanilla Ice
asparagus: RIAA, from my parents basement in Wyoming..I stab at thee.
Are you at all related to Chris Barrie? Our favorite Arnold J. Rimmer?

An OS in ML? Thats about the freakiest thing I've heard in a while. *SHIVER*
No I'm not a troll! I seriously had problems installing it. It was missing a bunch of Perl libraries, and refused to work for me.

I just got it, and its so fast it could be a mozilla-killer too.
d00d, when you are hardcore about your Quake 3 framerates, you'll pimp out every last corner of that mofo.
But rarely do we jump people who are anti-microsoft without knowing what they hell they are talking about.
Please, just go sit down and let the smart people talk amongst themselves. I bet you sat at the kiddie table on thanksgiving didnt you?

THe moral? Not all burned music cd's are illegal

Motorola processors are a bit of a drag, but the rumor is that Apple will be using Intel chips in the next couple of years.
When that happens, there will be very little between me and a new iMac
The interface and the heat/noise form a symbiote circle. You must realize that.

Just slap the word terrorist on anytyhing you want to want to keep down....terrorism is the new red scare of the 60's-70's
there really is a simple reason for that: LEAD = DAMN HEAVY
I think that we are witnessing the death rattle of the CRT.
