Unlike many other slashdot users, you seem to have forgotten that the OP was in past tense, and therefore the reply was also.
Grammar Macht Frei, indeed. Idiot.
Doesn't matter -- the counterclaims would still be pending, only a bankruptcy manager would have to deal with it. As for SCO execs being personally liable, it's possible AFAIK, particularly regarding SEC regs. Bear in mind that Canopy is now divorced from SCO; the folks on the yahoo! SCOX board are keeping an eye out if SCO attempts to get funding from alternative sources such as a reverse-merger with other Canopy (or even BayStar) companies.
IANAL and I am not a stock trader. I've simply been reading and following all the details for the last 2 yrs.
As long as we're all worried about extremists damaging reputations, lets have another look at the hard right, the hard left, the mass media, the MS extremists, the Mac fans, Martin Luther, the Pope, etc. etc.....
My point being, that the analysts damage whatever they're paid to damage nowdays, if you've been following things at all lately.
Go ahead. Buy whatever you want, pre-installed. Then, wipe the drive, return the CD's, and take a tax write-off on the software expense. Surely MS wouldn't want to obstruct justice by refusing to deal with your CPA/Accountant, nor would they want to reveal the true cost of the software?
"The problem is, MS doesn't view it as 25 billion in profit. They genuinely think that by opening up their source, they make *all* of their profit, worldwide, vulnerable."
Which only reinforces my long-standing opinion that they are a money company, not a technology company. And it shows, even in something as humble as a bug report.
"I've always wondered how eunuchs sound in bed, so can I do you next?"
They probably keep asking what the definition of "is" is, as they ponder the Road Ahead.
This is really odd in a way, because I've taken strong traits of both by way of upbringing... The "most likely" conclusion that I've been able to reach is that thought is thought regardless of how it is expressed. So for example that expression could be mathematical, artistic, rhetorical (in the classic sense), etc. I imagine that it is entirely possible for a 4th-world bush man to be a genius in his own context and time.
A favorite quotation of mine may say it better:
"Genius consists in nothing but love; if you love to do something, then you are a genius."

How is an "independent agency" "authorized"? I would *love* to see those NDA's.
Nothing to offer? It looks like the Marketing Dept. got a bunch! My point being, "offer what" and "to whom".
News: there is no such company on the planet, AFAIK.
It might not be good consultancy, but it sure looks like good business.
That's a device that I would sign up for in a heartbeat, tho I'm really not up on the the embedded market.

I could see Intel partnering with Transmeta, as far as the efficiency thing goes.
we love the austere world of the bean-counters.
I'm surprised some big movie companies haven't picked up on this yet. Pixar and such.
I guess H.Peter Anvin petrified Natalie Portman with his Beowulf cluster! Watch for Soviet Russia to pour hot grits down his pants!
Sorta like LFS if you remember to chroot and remove the deps properly
I have to wonder, will MS use of blogging give "blogging" per se any further credibility with mainstream journalism?

"Are you really entitled to a refund?" Is MS "entitled" to my money?
If you follow the handler's diaries at isc.sans.org, they've narrowed it down to a handful of malware-infested sites which are presumably related.

I have to wonder what happens if somebody has RealNetworks stuff installed and tries to embed a video clip. Would it still be broken in Word?
Yes. The key is to understand that in the US, patents issued are assumed to be valid until they are overturned -- which costs a *lot*.

(Wm. Morris Hunt, American artist, 19th. C.)
Seconded.
I agree; the difference lies in knowing where the line is, IMHO.
