Of course, that was one of the first thing that can to my mind and we all have our favorite choices. But there are so much cheaper alternatives and what are the choices that non-volunteers are going to do any good science?
NOTE: It now costs more to execute a prisoner in Texas than it does to house them for life - due to the legal fees and all of the mandatoray appeals that are often paid by the state - usually more than a million dollars each. I question if that is even worth it - better to better the sonabitch work off the debt.
Nothing on Mars is worth the price at this time. Thrown people on a oneway price cost even more - the soul of our society, to throw away good people for so little. Good gawd, we have even finish the I.S.S. or settled on a successor to the Space Shuttle. And for all of this we are going to throw away the Hubble?
The U.S. space policy is as insane as it's policy in the Middle East or it's tax structure.
But if it comes down to it, and you can't afford a lawyer, you could also try contacting a university to see if some law student wants some practice. Maybe the professor would be willing to "take your case" as a class project or something.
But would it be worth the court's time in that case? No, if a lawyer does not see the worth in, a practicing lawyer, then let it go.
>Right. You are going to find a lawyer who will >work on a contingency fee in a lawuit over a code >segment that generates random passwords or >creates string tokenizers. Good luck on your quest.
True. That is the failsafe in the system that helps to cut down on the less importment lawsuits. But smarter than risking your own money. If you can cannot find a lawyer to take, then your chances of winning anything worth winning, then it is better to just drop it.
1. Call the phone. Talk to them on the phone and explain the oversight. Be polite and approach the situation purely as a problem solver with a helpful attitude. But take notes and pay close attention to how they response.
IF THAT FAILS, 2. Craft a letter. Be professional but firm. IF THAT FAILS, 3. Get a lawyer. A good one but one that will take the case for a percentage of this company that you are about to own.
...if you have a product need the end of it's life and the function is smooth, sure, don't mess with it. But if the original programmers are gone, it is poorly documented and you have much plans for it, a rewrite could be worthwhile even with the new bugs just to provide the new team a way to get to know the problem better. Then they will be able to maintain it better and improve, not to mention have a great sense of ownership in it. It just depends.
Pay no attention to that war behind the curtain. Pay no attention to the homeless, the jobless, the hopeless. Pay no attention to wrecking of privacy and human rights. It is all good for the economy - i.e. the rich.
...and maybe I have just not see the good ones yet, but none of the ones that I have seen are as good as a good CRT direct view. And I can't stand dead pixels, even one will drive me crazy. For the money, you can get soo much more, *if* you have the space.
...the customers would remain anoumyous. I understand the casinos need to control the chips - they ain't a bank. But this will not happen, not today when no one has an itoa respect for anyone's privacy.
...over standards. It is all so disappointing, such wasted energy. Imagine if we were to finally grow up and work together what could be accomplished! But everyone has the "I don't follow standards, I make them!" mentality. Sad.
...counting pennies in a zero-sum game does not help the cause of Open Source at all. So what if some people use it and don't contribute - even if all they contribute is bug reports that has value, as anyone who works in a testing center will tell you. And the whole idea of gifting is not to demand anything in return.
But most of all, it will make crap worthless, like the damn Microsoft Office. Don't be cheap. Give what you got to give and let the users allow. Keep you penny pinching zero-sum ultra-capitistic self-righteous judgements out of this!
Dammit - I would cast Meryl Steep as Susan Calvin and she would have been the star of this movie. I love Will Smith but he is so wrong! I doubt that he can pull a Tom Cruise on this.
I have never posted to say mod this up or mod this down and I will not start now. I wanted to say, besure to check the links before you mod, but this one is so gross pronographic, please do so only if you are over 18. I will report this abuse.
This are designed to shield film from X-rays at the airport. Can you store your cell phone in one to protect your privacy? Of course, if you actually wanted to USE the beastie, you just unzipped your fly, but at least there is some control here.
...the best news that I have read in awhile. Now, if they will a) design security in from the start and b) use a language with bounds checking - NO MORE BUFFER OVERFLOW CRAP! I'm talking about tech that came about in 1970, for christ's sake!
Oh, great - first they throw an ad in my face that gets past my popup killer and then when i move my mouse to close it, it changes it's size to run away.
I stopped there and closed that window. I will NEVER go to Besonic AGAIN! I hope it dies.
Can't we throw bad people instead?

...i recall that Lukas had sketched out 12 movies in four trilogies. But then there are far more novels than that now.
I suspect that after the first movie fails to make a profit, we will see a Star Wars TV series.
