    Not the case, he is just web developer, doing web stuff as I understood it. Nothing specific aobut what he was doing, and he has done more with their relationship than their company originaly did. In any case, some folks are using this layoff and restructure chaos to their advantage. I am sure there should be more...

    So true and those are the ones that are. Here in San Francisco I see many folks purposely leaving big company services for small companies as all the folks they worked with got layed off and started their own companies. One example is my friend whose company shut down his division and stoped certain development services he was part of. He then contacted the ex clients and as he was ex employee he offered them same thing cheaper. Of course they took it ;) I see this happening a lot, and maybe I am idealistic about America, California, and San Francisco, but the real entrepeneurs will not go away :) There was money to be made, but only after they got rid of all that bloated middle management LOL

    I mean, is this going to be like tech tv, which to me is more like a gadgets commercial. I find that appart from few shows, most science programs are sort of thin on content. I still love Nova somehow :) I just hope this is not going to be another of those channels whose documentaries are filled with goofy re-enactments bi third rate actors whose faces you rarely see ....

    Perhaps this can be used to trace them down, I am a tad doubtful that this would really work, however, it could be used to catch folks who test for these and try to use them, thereby identifying potential spammers. Perhaps, a follow up email to ISPs getting them disconnected for life (hehe)?

    Will they measure the odors? I wonder if they could come up with any interesting smell data. Say they put electro-noses everywhere smeeling the cities of the world, would they discover anything worthwhile? Perhaps they can rfind some interesting connections between smells and neighborhoods and smells an income or even smells and crime. I once read that the piss in soccer stadium often inspired men to fight subconciously. I wish I could remember more about that as it would surely add some color to this post.

    yep, I avoid Kazaa for those reasons on my good computere. I have a crappy one for Kazaa ;) Also, I tend to enjoy finding good stations and ripping mp3s from there. Can't say this here enough .... streamripper.sourceforge.net www.shoutcast.com These two are great togethere, I have thousands and thousands of good MP3s as a result... Last I heard it was not illegal to record the radio, and those radios are paying royalties, so it is all good ;)

    well this is what happens when wage workes don't unionize :( Sorry, unions are way too tribalistic. They all complain about foreing workers etc. Workers should just glkobalize like coorporations did. Imagine a world wide strike hehehehe Those who are against union deserver to work weekends ;) It proffesionals have long rejected unions because they are fed lies about stock options and because they are fooled into thinking that unions are for manual labor.

    Not only blog, you can have password portected photo galleries and mp3 folders for you and your firends. You can have geneology sites for your family members etc.... Lot's of good reasons to host your website, and to do so with savage web servers ;)

    Well, what is really scary about any sort of biological research is the creepy way these things kill you. Also the way there is no escape, as in it could be in the air you breathe and/or the lips you kiss...

    What is also really scary about biological research of this kind is that a very small amount can do loads of damage. Someone could easily infect themselves or do a "12 monkeys" type of thing. What if a crazy biologists decides to take loads of folks out? Not sure what the answer is as we always prove true to our worst nature (being wild apes and all)...

    not if you are selling hosting services ;) No shipping whatsoever. I am starting to feel that the entire hosting industry will flourish mostly outside the US as trade is not an issue, and neither are labor laws... Also, the US keeps getting more and more fascist... I read up the definition lately, fits us well :(

    Is this their own fault really? How long have we known about mp3s? Instead of adapting and changing their biz model, they persecute the technology and its users. Big mistake!

    I am curious about certain biz laws, that prescribe that biz that is irresponsible with their intellectual property should be help accountable themselves. I know this is true for some cases, not sure why it would not apply here...

    Also, a fun thing to try is http://streamripper.sourceforge.net Last I heard, it was not illegal to record a radio station playing ;)
