Funnily enough I've spent the last two day with just one who keeps breaking networking on their comp, and the only thing they say is "I didn't do anything"
I'm pro-OSS and anti-MS but, if MS did include a built in PDF printer, they would be slated for attempting to monopolise the PDF creation market and Adobe would go nuts.
Yes, and if you don't install Windows what are you going to open those TC protected Word documents, which only open in TC protected MS word on TC protected windows with a TC protected BIOS, with? If TC takes off, the general public will be too dumb to make the choice against it, and screw the rest of us along with it
Any why do we have hospital records on computers attached to the internet? I bet you're the kind of guy who believes that you can ssh into nuke1.usaf.gov, login as root:h4xx0r and./nuke pakistan right?
I thought self propagating worms involved no direct user interaction (ie a tard clicking a link), doesn't that make this just a plain old (really simple) trojan if anything being as it pretends to be something else (i assume the link comes with a message like click here to see me holiday pics !)?
I've had 100 percent unfiltered, unlogged, totally freedom of use of the internet since at least age 10
Being the house administrator the whole time was an advantage, as there was nothing my parents could do that I would't be able to get around, so they just let me run wild
Years of exposure to god knows who, and god knows what, I've only had one run in with the police related to the Internet, but it wasn't *because* of the Internet
I'm 16 now, and have been online for ~8 years (scary thought, half my life), and the only decent thing I praise my parents for is not trying to dictate my Internet usage, and will not restrict any children I may have's Internet access
I'm in the UK, I only use MSN atm, I have all 4 clients but don't need them atm, most of my contacts are either school friends (i'm 16) or clan related (moh, clanbase)
I soooooo agree with out, i've said this for years, if you're a gimp with a virus, then you've broken net 'law' and should have your internet access removed at ISP level, i've had numerous net slowdowns in the last 2 weeks because i'm on cable, so i share an upstream with local gimps with , i wish my ISP would detect the gimps doing this and remove their access permanently, technically they are in breach of the AUP, but the ISP is too scared to enforce it by the look of it:(
They are mandating the choice between proprietry and open source software, NOT between microsoft and red hat for instance, they are free to choose what software they want to use in the OSS world, rather than be FORCED to use something which runs under just windows, where they are forced to PAY more for updates etc..
read some of the comments made about stanco's comment, then you will understand
more than 3 minutes to load so far, this has the be the fastast ever slashdot, there were no comments when i first went to the link, and i still haven't seen it!

Shit, it's almost a 100 years too.

That we know of, because obviously microsoft operate such an open policy of breaches!

It's viruses, there is a very good page about it, but I can't find the link, so you'll just have to say viruses
I support OSS etc..., and I understood this point, damn zealots make everyone of us look blind :)
Quantam cryptography is based on the transmission of the encrypted information, not on the actual encryption of it

Why would you need to? (as far as AV and 'Ad-aware') are concerned...
Time to kill an angelfire site :)p cgames.html

Abit cheap but quite informative
Where's the fun in that? The point in shooting them is for the fun of watching em die at a slower pace than *bang* dead!

no, that would be the concept of web pages learn some history
um, that is the disassembled code of the virus, not the decompiled code, that could of been written in any language (afaik, which isn't far)
haven't we seen this before http://slashdot.org/articles/03/04/01/133217.shtml ?tid=95 [slashdot.org]
