While much of what you said's true, lots of people have no desire for particular kinds of fast food despite a never ending stream of ads. Ditto car brands, fiber cereal, movies in genres they don't care for, ED remedies, etc.
I think they do a good job of tickling the brains of people predisposed to things, but it's not like they have a magic fungus that turns us all into marching zombie ants.
The Earth is constantly producing more through radioactive decay deep underground. Alpha particles steal electrons from neighboring atoms and become He. Some of it becomes trapped in oil and natural gas reservoirs making it easy to tap off in quantity. Anybody here know at what rate this happens, like, in liters per year?

All right. So the business about scanning tweets is kind of silly. But identifying dangerous psychopaths has value, if we can prevent things like mass shootings. What if some other technique worked? Would you put the names in a database? Lock people up just to be sure? If the FBI had this magic information, what would they do with it?
