    In other news the Pentagon confirmed that German intelligence had uncovered evidence of WMD on Titan. The weapons are believed to have been developed by the Titians, a cult cloaked in mystery and understood to have clashed previously with ancient Greek culture. A spokesman said this probably explained the disapperance of Atlantis and that Titan had been moved from position 825 to position 7 on the Places To Be Invaded list. When questioned President Bush had only two words on the matter, "Jelly Babies".

    So what you are saying is that the plenipotentiary of the Netherlands Government votes on major issues either without consulting his government or by ignoring them. This might be slightly different but its still unacceptable political farce.

    Topic of this vote aside how is Europe supposed to get anywhere if a country votes one way and then a couple of months later changes its decision? They had time enough to make up their minds. Decisons this will only undermine political credibility in Europe.

    for the moment anyway. The price tag, form factor and lack of HDTV will I think put most people off these. DVD is adequate for the masses and until something clearly better and more affordable comes these are just expensive gadgets.

    Would you care to share your reasoning as to why a language specifically built to be cross platform and with an incredibly flexible and powerful GUI infrastructure is not a good choice for a GUI app but an immature, unproven platform with serious GUI shortcomings is?

    Ive been a big critic of Eclipse in the past but 3.0 is huge improvement over their previous efforts and its not actually bad. IDEA IntelliJ is probably the best IDE out there but will cost you a few bucks. NetBeans is passable or you can download JBuilder Foundation which is quite limited, the decent versions will set you back a fair whack. I'm not sure if Oracle JDeveloper is free, it's a JBuilder spin off and from what I hear not bad. Eclipse is the pick of the freebies but I prefer to pay for the quality of IntelliJ.

    Teenage boys/men will always search high and low for porn and the web is loaded with it, be it sites, newsgroups, hell allow image download and half you email is porn. Its a supply and demand situation and there will always be a demand while males have testosterone and credit cards to pay for porn.

    But both only cater to one language, Java, and some of the best plugins for Eclipse are not free. Interesting that you should bring up Eclipse though, a classic case of an OS IDE desperately trying to emulate the standards of a commercial offering, IDEA Intellj.

    Each download caters to a specific language, one of the coolest features is to have comprehensive support for multiple language projects in a single workspace. Seems to be editor, debugger, GUI designer. Enough to get you started. None of the nice toys like analyser, test center, visio etc come with them. Nice to see they have included refactoring though, a huge ommission from previous versions.

    Thats what I was hoping, 0.9 launched after install for me and then never launched again because of an illeagal access. 0.9.1 launches but insists on telling me it cannot connect to any websites. Back to the 0.9RC for me, despite its tendency to hang. 0.7 and 0.8 were very stable for me, its disappointing to see this deterioration. Actually sod it I'm reinstalling 0.8
