Its all part of give and take. The lawmakers will not be bullying IBM, they will be doing it cover their own asses. Do you think they want to expain how they lost $5 millions dollars of taxpayers money in court? IBM hold all the cards here.

I agree, I find women in the workplace are generally polite to each other and then frequently turn around and bitch like anything behind each others back. However the office wokspace is a very different environment to a nuclear submarine where you are deployed for 6-8 months at a time in a 100m long narrow metal tube, sharing bunks, monotonous shifts etc and there is just no getting away from each other. Thats what the study concluded women dealt with better than men with improved discipline and efficiency IIRC.

Well I remember reading about a US Navy study some years ago that concluded that nuclear submarines would function more efficiently if they were crewed solely by women because they coped better mentally with prolonged cramped living conditions similar to those on the space station.

Agreed, seems more logical not negotiate for a few points of the gross rather than risk the substantial up front cost of making the movie themselves. If a couple of movies tank Marvel will be in serious diffs. Also they are going to have to hire some very creative accountants. The movie studios are notorious for their bookkeeping practices, which contributes substantially to their profits.

Should these claims be proven libelous all the pressure falls on the administrator because they are actually known. So the court awards in my favour and the buck for liability stops with the administrator who now is highly motivated to find out who the original posters were so he can pass on the bad news and will be wasting no time in logging IP addresses from that point forward and also removing potentially litigious postings. The plaintiffs may not gain a lot from this other than to prevent similar postings in the future.

Well it wasn't a complete bluff. Any followers of Mr "There are legions of terrorists out there waiting to kill us" Rumsfelds career will remember him back in the day when it was Russian nuclear bombers not terrorists lining up to kill us. As was shown later this "bomber gap" was completely fictitious but resulted in the US having a much larger bomber force than the Russians. As missile technology improved the bomber gap was replaced by the missile gap. Now this was actually a real gap, just not in the direction Mr Rumsfeld and his buddies led poople to believe. So the Russians, seriously worried at the US first strike weapons advantage had no choice but to chuck what money they had at their military.

In fact it's somewhat ironic that after all the politically motivated fear mongering in the West during the cold war it turns out the Russians were actually bricking themselves because they knew they were badly outgunned.

Apple Introduces Safari for Windows Public Beta Available Today for Mac Windows

WWDC 2007, SAN FRANCISCOJune 11, 2007Apple® today introduced Safari 3, the worlds fastest and easiest-to-use web browser for Windows PCs and Macs. Safari is the fastest browser running on Windows, based on the industry standard iBench tests, rendering web pages up to twice as fast as IE 7 and up to 1.6 times faster than Firefox 2. Safari joins iTunes® in delivering Apples legendary user experience to both Windows and Mac® users as well as full support of open Internet standards. Safari 3 features easy-to-manage bookmarks, effortless browsing with easy-to-organize tabs and a built-in RSS reader to quickly scan the latest news and information. Safari 3 public beta is available today as a free download at www.apple.com/safari.

We think Windows users are going to be really impressed when they see how fast and intuitive web browsing can be with Safari, said Steve Jobs, Apples CEO. Hundreds of millions of Windows users already use iTunes, and we look forward to turning them on to Safaris superior browsing experience too.
