explain what the major advantages of using Python are. I have only ever looked at it very briefly and even more briefly at Jython. From this very limited experience I cant really think of a compelling reason to use Python over some of the more mainstream languages, other than perhaps as a scripting type glue.

I know this is a valuable application of technology, something we dont see enough of but my very first thought was where will this monitoring end. In the future will my woman be getting wireless messages that my blood alcohol levels are rising so she can put an end to my fun in the pub. Will she be able to get messages that my testosterone levels are increasing while I'm looking at an attractive woman. God forbid the damn things are interactive so she can administer electric shocks in this scenario.

  17. Dont know if I agree on The Introvert Advantage · · Score: 4, Insightful

Introverts often have self-esteem problems because they can't be what most of the world wants them to be.

In my experience low self esteem often occurs because someone cant be what they think the rest of the world wants them to be. Personally I always find this strange because I'm pretty sure the rest of world does not give a shit about me so I dont really care what the world thinks anyway.

The point of this book is to teach introverts why they are the way they are, to show them which aspects of their personality are immutable and which can be changed, and most of all to show that that there is nothing about introversion that requires making excuses.

Is personality, or certain personality traits immutable? I would have thought that with the right stimulation it would be highly mutable. Thats ignoring the fact that we are intelligent enought to recognise our own patterns of behaviour and can suppress our natural instincts if we make that choice.

Why would it be disturbing that one of the most apparent uses for this technology is advertising ? Its not going to bring peace or solve world hunger. I'm sure the inventors will be looking to make a few dollars for their time and effort. The advertising industry will lap up, and pay top dollar for technology that allows them greater flexibility in advertising. Its probably the market the inventors have intended all along.
