But I am concerned as to the Santa friendliness of this chimney internet access. Will I still be able to get my presents if I access the internet this way.
A bunch of chickens are fed a large amount of cocaine and then show a video of the life and works of Buckminster Fuller. They are then let loose in a wire factory and hey presto Chicken Wire.
Not enought Linux companies are making money so instead they are going to take a leaf from the RIAA handbook on how to win friends and influence people by hitting all Linux using students with massive lawsuits thus forcing the students to settle and hand over their first 10 years salary after graduation as a penalty
With the disclaimer that the Sun is a rag and can't really be believed I can imagine this would be met with a similar response to the Poll tax in the UK. Why should people stand for such blatent money grabbing government interference in their day to day lives.
that in the future we will have nano technology embedded within us to enforce RIAA etc type infringements by punishments such as inducing bouts of uncontrolled urination and defecation in public. People will see you crap yourself at the touch of a button and say 'ahh he must have been using P2P again'

First of all its 'ahh look at the cute robot playing in the garden and learning how to survive on flowers'. Then its 'AHHHH please Mr. T1000 let me survive, please dont point that pulse rifle at me'.
and my preference when interviewing to select people with solid commercial experience rather that mostly academic backgrounds. I suppose for specialised applications a Phd will be a benifit but not for the vast majority of positions.
The guy only tested one one machine (far as I can tell), but still I know its is a very cool hack but I mean really does it make a difference ? These machines are purchased as gaming platforms, not as the first step to world domination. Nice to know but is it more fun for the majority to play games or run 'unsigned code'
Give it a rest with the conspiracy theories and the 'if only we can link microsoft to this' nonsense. There were known problems with the grid so obviously its management would have been looking for solutions to resolve this. In this case its not like they destroyed the power grid becasue they have a fix waiting, the technology still has to be developed fully.
I'd like to see you come up with something that you can't put a price on.
SCO Linux License: $699
SCO Legal Fees for IBM Lawsuit: $5,000,000
Watching SCO getting raped in court by IBM's Lawyers: Priceless

Being the Department of Energy I though they would have used AMD chips so they could use the excess heat to drive a power plant.
