  1. I actually like swine flu on WHO To Investigate Handling of Swine Flu Information, Vaccine Orders · · Score: 4, Interesting

When I read a rumor that mostly fat people were dying from swine flu, it gave me the motivation to lose weight. I went from obese to normal weight in nine months. Now I feel stronger because I am not carrying around 50 pounds of ballast.

That's the only good thing that has come of the media scare about swine flu.

  2. Unemployable? on Indian CEO Says Most US Tech Grads "Unemployable" · · Score: 5, Insightful

Perhaps Mr. Nayar should stop beating around the bush and just state the reasons why he thinks Americans are unemployable:
    Americans enjoy running water.
Americans don't want to live in a small mud hut with their whole extended family.
Americans don't want to work 80 hours a week on slave wages with no overtime.
Americans have a higher cost of living in regards to just about everything.
Americans usually need cars to function in American society.
Americans want to have 72"+ LED backlit LCD TVs.
Managers don't get bonuses for hiring Americans.

I personally think that every job should have a wage that a person can live off of, "unskilled" or "skilled". If you want to see something funny, hand a CEO a floor buffer and watch him fumble about with it.

Out of principle I stopped writing and left the site when I saw that they wanted me to write in 1000 characters or less "why I wanted to beta test their game." They know damn well that most people want to play because it is free and a way to pass time. It is a question that doesn't need to be asked.

Next thing to do is make sure the bulk of the movie is located on the Halo. When the Master Chief looks in the sky, I want to see the other side of the Halo.

I'd like to see is either excellent CG enemies or guys in suits. I want none of that cheap looking Hulk CG. I want to be frightened by the enemy. When the Flood comes after me, I want to feel the fear and need to flee. In regards to the Flood, I want to see them actually transform a human corpse.

I haven't gone to an anime convention in two years because I'd probably end up in jail for assaulting anyone who is there to represent the american dubbing companies (I like to think of them all as slaughter houses). Anime and manga from Japan are art. The types of voices that the producer and director select are part of the package. They are part of the vision. What these American dubbing companies do is the equivalent of walking into an art gallery with a sledge hammer and a box cutter. Art galleries have security guards. Actually the Benefix Recombinant Factor products are made from genetically altered hamsters. The process of harvesting the factor kills the rodents so my existence is the bane of any animal rights advocates.

This also means that I won't get HIV or any other nasty blood disease. Most hemophiliacs don't feel safe using donor blood due to the HIV outbreaks of the Early 80's. About 44% of hemophiliacs at the time were infected.

The blood supply is supposedly perfectly safe now, but I wouldn't touch that stuff even if it'd save my life.

My uneasiness comes from the thought that someone could get infected with HIV and go donate blood before any detectable amount of HIV anti-bodies form in the blood. They actually test for the presence of the anti-bodies instead of the actual virus.

BeneFix Recombinant Factor products cost about $1000 per 10CC, with a typical dose being 40CC. Typically a patient receives three treatments a day for two weeks after surgery or an accident. That's $168,000. There is just too much profit in these drugs for hemophilia to ever be cured.

Of course, that cash amount doesn't look nice to potential employers. I don't participate in anything now since I can't afford this stuff.

I've considered living out in the woods, but I'd probably injure myself and die a slow and horrible death.

In conclusion, I'd like to thank Benefix for saving my life and curse them for making my ass unemployable with thier overpriced medicine.
