Those lines are what sony had patented until recently (and licenced out too).
It is called Apature Grill. It is a series of vertical fins just inside which make the pixels (spacing and all that). But because they have no horizontal support, they need it. so there are small supports at 1/3 and 2/3 down the screen (use a white background and you can see it).
The other technology, which is more expensive to manufacture, is Invar Shadow Mask. This is like a fine mesh that has holes for each pixel. The benefit is that it tends to be a sharper image, doesn't have the lines, and looks pretty much great. Cons are it costs more, and most companies went the AG as soon as they could.
I hate the AG monitors, so when I bought my 19" CRT (flat screen), I got a Viewsonic G90f. 19" shadow mask. It cost me $550CDN about 1.5 years ago. I have not regretted going to it at all.
I can go to very high res with no problems, it never ghosts, no bloody lines, and viewsonic went all-out with it. One of the possible drawbacks to shadow mask is that it can be slightly dimmer (due to less light making it through [think a fine mesh to cover your windows vs thin slat blinds), but viewsonic boosted the brightness a LOT. I keep it at ~50% and it is very bright.
one thing that I found works better... use the freaking SMS->e-mail function, and use the e-mail addresses that the companies give out (eg: 5555555555@sms.telus.net, etc). These tend to be lots more reliable as it no longer has to deal with the internetwork part..only getting sent from Roger's mail server out to telus's mail server..and e-mail is a better protocal. then telus SMS's their own user with it.
Makes for a much more reliable way of doing things.

Ok... time for me to dredge up my business law class here...
Here is the problem. A parody or criticism falls under fair use (such as a news article or an SNL sketch), as long as a) they can tell it is such, and b) it is one of those 2 things.
If however the work is a derivative of the work (in this case Star Trek) then the viewer should expect that it is a proper work, as such it breaks copyright.
These guys unfortunately don't have a leg to stand on, paramount could slap them with a cease and decist order quickly and take them to court for this easily... and win.
Fair use is not "as long as it works or is good". Only critisism or parody (see Wierd Al's case with I forget what rapper). See UAW v. Michelin.
It is also true that the script and movie are copyright to these guys, they are infringing on trademarks of Paramount.
I have worked with this version and here is the low-down concerning it and USB.
Windows 95 version B was an OEM only version of win95 that was released as a stopgap measure until 98 came out. you could only get it on a new computer. It fixed a lot of win95 bugs at the same time as adding a couple things...those are...
You can download a PATCH from M$ for it that can give it LIMITED USB support. Most hardware manufacturers that make USB devices say 98 or higher because of the problems with the 95 version. Also, it could not support more than 1 USB device very easily. (In fact, if you install an Iomega Zip drive the driver install tells you that you will not be able to use any other USB devices on the port until you uninstall the iomega stuff).
I am good at what I do... however the company I was at had a VC back out because he was losing his shirt on the stock market (even though we were not publically traded). So the company was forced to lay off 80% of its employees. I do not blame the company for this as it was a good company and they kept us informed.
HOWEVER I have only been out of school for 1 year working, and I didn't go for any mickey-mouse certs (eg: MCSE, A+) but actually went to a real school. I have now been unemployed for almost 3 months... and I have had 1, count it, 1 interview. It would be sweet if I could get it, but that should give you an idea.
There are a few people who went into IT because we are good at it, and went to school before this whole.com thing, but came out AFTER it blew up. We have been screwed because we have to compete with the MCSEs, the people who hold masters degrees, and the people with 10 years exp.
And I'm sorry but I don't have a massive amount of cash saved up to go back to school for 2-5 years.
Consider yourself LUCKY to have job in IT. And I'll tell you that most of the layoffs aren't due to deadwood, but the company just paring down.
An example: I apply to company X. Company X gets 500 resumes. About 400 of those are mickey-mouses, but let us say that some get interviewed anyways. About 50 of those people have lots of exp, are good, and desperate for work. These will make up the majority of interviews. Then you have about 50 people who have traditional schooling, and
Now, looking at that... tell me where the problem is. HOW CAN YOU GET MORE EXP IF YOU CAN'T GET A FREAKING JOB! and if you don't have exp, you don't get the job.
Microsoft never would say Windows Codename Longhorn.
They would say Windows Longhorn. Microsoft has never used the word "Codename" in any documentation nor in any releases in the past. Therefore it is faked.
The deal is that Disney has the distribution rights outside Japan for all Studio Ghibli productions. This includes about 99% of Miyazaki's work. Therefore it IS copyright Disney for the purposes of (world - Japan).
I'll bash the mouse all I want because...well... they still haven't brought out Laputa, which they said they would YEARS ago.
Guess who is left-handed... me
I love my keyboard, in fact I can type very fast and with very few errors.
I like my keyboard. Although that "home row" bullsh*t sucks a**.
And alphabetically would byte because alpha does not take into account common usage amounts. Eg: we use A and E a lot more than say...uhhh....Z. As suck, A is where one your fingers is, and E is right by another one. Z is stuck in the corner of the keyboard. Ok, done ranting.
Bye bye!

Actually, ADV is a very good company. David (one of the high-ups there) is a very nice guy... ADV started as a fan-subbing group and went from there.
In fact, when Jessica Calvello (the voice of Excel in volumes 1-3) was asked at Sakura Con 2002 ( http://www.sakuracon.org ) which company was the most professional about their voice recording she said ADV.
ADV IS slow with their releases however. This is just due to the fact that they are doing a lot. They pick up the licenses so they can do them rather than someone else and then they sit because they got a touch carried away:)
As for why some shows are released oddly (eg: Blue Sub 6), strait from David's mouth... is that part of the deal to get the rights was that in whatever medium they were released they only be released 1 per piece.
Also of note, ADV has the rights to do the NA release of Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water, but due to their contract, they do not hold the BROADCAST rights to it. This means that you can't ask them if you can show it somewhere, as they don't hold those rights.
When VJAS ( http://www.vjas.com [flash warning]), the Vancouver Japanese Animation Society) was putting together a large showing ADV was one of the first companies to get back to us about permissions.
Not to be tooo pro ADV... Bandai Entertainment is also a good group (Hi Jerry Chu!). Although sometimes their person for taking care of permissions takes a little prodding.
One thing of note is that Bandai Ent. is not really related to Bandai Inc. [the guys who make the anime, who did power rangers, etc...]. Bandai Ent. is about 15 people in North America dealing with distribution, advertising, and getting dubs done.
Ok, peace out!

The google.ca site is pretty much the as google.com except for 2 things.
#1) it is a different server, therefore spreading the load for google.
#2) it slightly boosts canadian results, as well as allowing you to search pages in canada only.
I've used it for a while with no problems. I like it.
That ain't C++, that's C.
jeez. get your languages right.
if it was C++ you would have things like "using namespace std;" and you would have used cout rather than printf.
Silly C programmers not doing it properly

most lefties are equally as good with their right hand for typing. Why? because we have trained ourselves.
But it feels odd to use the right hand for the mouse (would you want to use your non-dominant hand for an FPS?)
The stupid thing is that to make a left handed version all they need to do is mirror the mold. Which is easy to do on computer.
I would pay more for an ergonomic mouse if it was left-handed. I hate all the nice mice being right hand only.
