    Well, back then the tech gave us an edge and it mattered. Today, everybody can have the tech - its more open now than it was then, so its no longer just about technology but also how well its used.

    However I suppose that argument could be used for just about anything :)

    That is so wrong. I'm anti-social because I do not fit in. Because I have trouble adjusting to the society and because I feel awkward about things.

    I do not see anything wrong with it, its part of who I'm and its just the way I'm wired.

    You forget

    - Get troops out of Afghanistan
    - Stop supporting Pakistan and bring stability in the Indo-pak region - for the life of me, I cannot understand why the US finds the need to be nice to Pakistan rather than India which is a democratic and upcoming economy.
    - Stop being so nice to China has openly admitted to selling weapons to Pakistan and the Arab nations.

    Just my 0.02.

    Sarcasm aside, if you are a product of anything but pure merit (no matter how so) your professional capabilities are doubted. This is natural. Yes, I would doubt a black doctor who has not gotten through the proper channels, and I do not see anything wrong in that simply because am being careful. Reservation for anything thats not meritorious is a bad thing, IMHO.
