If you live in a place where they adjust the clocks twice a year (to better fit people's schedules with daylight), then be sure to IGNORE those adjustments when writing your automated snapshoots! Otherwise you'll be taking pictures an hour before (or after) the sun gets to the part of the sky you're shooting.
In casual conversation one needs to tell things apart. If PStwo supposed to be pronounced the same way most people say "PS2", then we should refuse to go along with that plan. Fortunately, "P-STWO" (long "O", non-silent "W") is a pronouncable alternative.:)
Practically all the reviews show that AMD chips of comparable type defeat Intel's chips. And Intel's cost more. Duh! Perhaps Intel should consider a larger-quantity order-size than a mere 1000, or even 10,000 -- and reduce the price accordingly.
OK, then what about a communications card that plugs into, of all the mad ideas, a DIMM slot!!! All it has to do is fool the BIOS into looking like memory during Boot, and maybe it would actually contain some RAM, but whenever the CPU writes to a certain address range, it is being commanded to communicate. (Not to mention that the I/O buffer is about as handily available as can be imagined!)
That is, for a Linux cluster to keep up with a supercomputer, the cluster needs faster communications between processors. The bottleneck of going from processor to South Bridge to PCI Bus to Ethernet card, and back again at another processor, is the problem.
So, the answer is to recognize that in a cluster most of the machines don't need video cards. That means Somebody can design a fiber-optic communications card that plugs into the AGP slot (or maybe a PCI Express slot). Then, Cray, look out!
Oh, boy! Now we can start preserving all of today's data in really long-lasting form! They should start with instructions of how to build and program one of these machines!
I did a search for the word "hard" before posting this. Maybe the wrong word. But since most disk drives are hard drives, and since they can be used to hold copyrighted data, the proposed bill obviously will outlaw them, too, right?
Free beer is beer that starts out confined in a cask or can or stein or mug or whatever, but due to inadequate attention on the part of a Beer Handling Person, has escaped.
Here.
That Web page is entirely self-contained; a browser can load it from the hard drive and the game will work fine, no Internet connection required. If you want to translate it to Ugandan, go ahead!
Thanks for the info, folks, but remember, in a windowing environment there is often a border ALL around the image. So, those toolbars and control buttons you talk about could be located all around the image, on a 2048x1152 screen, and the interior can still be 16:9 ratio.
What???
Don't they know we want the HDTV 16:9 (1.777...:1) ratio?
I'll pass, thanks but no thanks!
Now show me 2048x1152 pixels and maybe a 23inch diagonal...I think that would be about optimum for my needs.
How long do I have to wait???
Here is a simple Web page you can copy. The whole game is embedded in the page as JavaScript. Saved as a file, this page can be accessed any time, and works fine with no Internet connection.
Also, for Spanish speakers, the page has been prettied up and translated. (Sorry, that link is not as exact as I'd like; click on "Actividades", and then click on "Adivina el numero".) You may need permission from the people who did the translation.

They've been looking for a good remote land mine sensor. Maybe this is it!
Obviously the TV thought it had been stolen. Did the cops check for that?
The Better Battery, or equivalent energy storage system that lasts a decent amount of time in use, and is quickly/easily recharged.

This scheme can only stop Trojan-type viruses, and not the kind that do their own scanning for vulnerable systems.

And what are you going to tell the folks at the airport security checkpoint?
Here.
Thanks for the replies!

Some time back I posted this, of which the the present Slashdot Article reminded me. Some of it sound similar. And some is different, of course.

Here is a link describing the neurophone, much like I first heard about it, years ago.

Just one extra mechanical arm with a small wisk broom to brush dust off the solar panels, and those rovers might last for a decade.

If we had some of those (or declared various places to be such), then that might change a few Vogon minds....
If those games can't run under Windows, then they may yet run under Linux/Wine. Pass the word!
Here is a better link to the Spanish Translation.
