  1. Re:removable RAM? on Graphics Memory Sizes Compared: How Much Is Enough? · · Score: 5, Interesting

By soldering the RAM directly to the board there is a better connection which allows them to run the chips faster. If you add a connector then you add a capacitive load and thus you have to slow down the memory. Thats not to say modular RAM could not be incorporated down the line, but for the latest and greatest its better and cheaper to solder the stuff right on the PCB (printed circuit board).

    - 4x SCSI was mine and may have had 500 CDs put through it. The second one I got on RMA definitely did not and will not burn except on blue moon nights. Thats OK though because it still works as a CD-ROM and is nice for OGG making.. hehe

    - 16x IDE was my sister's and died within' a year. She burned alot of CDs, but no way 500 in a year.

    - 12x IDE was my roommates and died within three years. No way 500 CDs, and no more warranty for him :(

Oh well, considering how cheap these things are I bought a TDK IDE burner for $50 (with rebate) and its been pretty nice burning CDs in five minutes :)

Plextor makes great drives that kick ass in ripping and copying everything that is five inches in diameter except corn tortillas, but I can't get them to last and neither can my buds :(

My message to the RIAA... with rambling included...

Just wanted to mention that I support the IFRA. I would say almost all of the CDs I have bought over the last two years have been because of Independent Web Radio stations. The reason is because I don't listen to Pop radio much. I'm more of a heavy metal and techno guy. I would say that Internet radio has been directly responsible for my purchase of at least 20 metal CDs over the two years, and has been responsible for me attending at least three concerts. So just think... if you kill Internet radio there are lots of us non-pop listeners that just might sit back and not purchase any new CDs because we haven't heard anything new to buy... I have over 200 CDs that I like and still listen too... I can probably just sit back and listen to just those for the next five years or so without purchasing anything new. Please stop trying to kill Internet radio with CARP. Your non-pop music fans depend on it for new music. There is more to music than MTV and the Clear Channel Radio network. Internet radio helps you guys by making pure fan based radio stations that will help make your affiliates better margins on non-pop bands. Don't fear what you don't understand. Embrace the future and capitalize on change.

I guess the same could be said of dogs, not to belittle us humans though. Just an example. I kinda saw the movie as a triumph of will over genetics.

Also, welcome to the United States where we the Electoral College actually makes the final call. I don't like the Electoral College. I would rather see a direct vote, but you know thats the rules set forth by the Constitution of the United States. Hell, the amount of votes that the people cast is actually not even of a concern for the Electoral College. If zero people had voted for Bush in Florida the Electoral College still could have cast their votes for Bush. You don't whine your way into the Presidency of the United States of America. So I'm glad the real "bullshit regime" or the "Gore Camp" didn't win. Even with their fancy lawyers.

What happened is when I installed the web server over the security rollup package some DLLs were replaced wih old ones. Only Windows didn't know this, so I didn't know this at the time. As further evidence, I could go to Windows Update and everything was a-ok according to MS. But once I got the virus I realized it wasn't. SO I figured out the problem and re-applied the security roll up package and everything was cool.
