A standard road is necessary. We need to remove the corporate influence on 'our' airwaves. A perfect system is to use all the frequencies in a manner like WiFi. Take all special interest out of it. That's right freedom of speech should now be equated to our airwaves. Our airwaves should be much like the internet.
The Government should create information "road" just like they created the internet. And not sell of the public spectrum to rich people. We need a bigger broader 'internet' including the 'all' the wireless airwaves and new tech like the aricle in Discovery about directial handheld wireless phone/pda's.
Allowing corporations or special interest to control our speech and our airwaves is very wrong.
That corporate mergers have increased(Peoplesoft&Oracle,Clearchannel) under the Bush administration and no one really cares until you turn on the Cnn/moneyline and notice that the corporations aren't hiring because of HIGH productivity by their businesses. Most hirings come from small business. To me mergers mean only one thing , an attempt to monopolize.
The INTERNET was created by the government and hated by the PHONE companies that are now trying to be the saviors of broadband networking.
A public government funded WiFi network is better for the longterm. I compare it to highways. What if private enterprise built the highways ? We would getting billed ever month for 50 bucks with hidden charges and endless tollbooths.
We need more proactive presidents and congressman in these regards.
Kerry has said that it's governments responsibility to bring fiber to the curb. I am sold on him.
We also need an alternative to cellular phone networks using directional wifi.
Not private companies that want to use OUR airwaves to GOUGE people that don't have a choice.
Have any of you ever wondered why the government has not been more active in fiber to the curb or support a public Wi-fi network? It's because the present president is owned by $pecial $$ interest (oil companies included,haliburton).
The government is the only entity that can get costs down for LARGE projects such as this and keep prices down.
Kerry campaign people need to get more knowledgable on wireless broadband and include it with their fiber to the curb plans.
Broadband by government is the only way we will ever get the 100 megabit lines to our homes and businesses.

You can buy hard drives with rebates for under $50 now. What's going on with the prices ?These microdrives are sexy but the cost $150-200 to manufacture. I don't mind carrying a slightly larger 20 gig model if it's priced right.
Rework email so that it can be secure,authenticated like Paypal's system. If your email isn't registered with the mail servers(false email origins) then it wont even be sent clogging the networks. Email is the perfect medium for criminals & garbage businesses. It has zero authentification and is low cost. Maybe the government will also 'strengthen' the current donotcall list. have faith. I was talking to a few members of the development team and asked them when they would implement a faster,better web page caching system like opera but the developers mentioned it would take thousands of lines of new DOM code. They also said if you want faster browsing then just open a new window . I think there is a lack of priorities by the top managers at mozilla. How could making an installer be more important than making the brower faster. Also the fast forward and rewind is a good idea . If you notice,alot of these direction features are in ADOBE ACROBAT PDF viewers.

There is always a natural balance to things. We don't allow anyone to go out start producing fissible material.
