I love this idea. I always disliked seeing games come out in Japan first, and having to wait until they get ported to the US, if the game even got ported at all.
Is this a problem only with 64bit Linux browsers or does 64bit windows systems have the same problem?

then the Star can pay the fee and have a picture loaded. It helps prevent people posting false pictures or trying to have the star have a negative image.
I feel MS is going to rush the product to market and may have a poor launch because the quality of the first titles won't be much better than the games we have now on the latest generation of consoles. The one thing MS does have going for it is the upcoming holiday season, they will be the only new console in town and may get a lot of sales just from that. You would think MS would be doing a lot more to make people want to get the 360, but so far it's all been 'talk' and no actual content to look forward to.
Game prices are high enough as it is. Now if people want to play the 'whole' game they have to pay an extra $10 for more of the game and $5 more for extra online content? It seems like just another way to nickel and dime consumers. They just just release the 'whole' game at the standard price, and if you pay for xbox live you should get the online content for free.
I remember all the hype, but once I got a hold of Ridge Racer and Battle Arena Toshi.. I was quickly disapointed. Also the first games were released in those god awful Sega Saturn CD cases. I didn't really start to like the PS1 until Resident Evil, Tekken 2, Doom, and also got addicted to Demolition Derby.
A lot of malls have both an EB and a Gamestop, they will probably just keep 1 of the stores open to save money, and more than likely let some workers go. I think on the business side this will be positive, because the merger makes sense in a lot of ways. Don't see any major positives for the consumer.
They should do this type of report every 3months, if not the information and prices get dated very quickly. I was suprised at what kind of system you can get with 1k these days.
I've read that the Nintendo Revolution dev kit is very similar to thre previous generations, so the learning curve for existing developers won't be as much. The revolution is just basically a more advanced gamecube when it comes to processor and graphics. from Ninendo's Press release Freedom of design: A dynamic development architecture equally accommodates both big-budget, high-profile game "masterpieces" as well as indie games conceived by individual developers equipped with only a big idea.
the versus Marvel and SNK is getting really old. I loved SF2, the Alpha series and 3. The quicker SF4 comes out int he arcades the quicker it will be on home systems, where I will use up hours of my life instead of hundreds of quarters.
To fix the Queue problem, all I would think they need to do is increase the maximum number of instances being run at a time. That may just be adding more hardware or changing code limitations.
As far as people who play off hours not able to join in the fun, should be considered a very minor problem. I would think the aim would be to please a majority of the player base with add ons.
I don't know why everyone is making such a big deal about the xb360 bundles. Most consumers are just going to buy the core system and 1-2 games anyway. Also the bundles arn't that expensive when you compare to previous console launches. By the time you buy all the add ons and games you want for any system, you would easily spend more than even the cost of these bundles. The bundles are directed at the more hardcore gamers, who have no problems buying a lot up front.
higher clock speeds isn't the only way to get more performance.
At 14 stages, the main pipeline will be a little bit longer than current Pentium M processors. The cores will be a wider, more parallel design capable of issuing, executing, and retiring four instructions at once. (Current x86 processors are generally three-issue.) The CPU will, of course, feature out-of-order instruction execution and will also have deeper buffers than current Intel processors. These design changes should give the new architecture significantly more performance per clock, and somewhat consequently, higher performance per watt.
I know 586's are used on some NMS AG-Series T1/E1 PCI cards for Telecommunications network connections. AG 4040 boards
Lower end AG cards from NMS use 486's on PCI cards for Analog and Ditigal Telecommunication connections.
Even though AOL is heading downhill and many people are happy to see them head that direction; it's never good news to hear that many people getting let go. I always hoped AOL would evolve and not sink.
The gashopper could land at the edge of a deep chasm, examine the area, jump down to the bottom and get back out again
I doubt it could completely ignore terrain. It could land at the edge of a chasm, and then fall into it.
It's hard to justify raising prices on people who are just using the ISP's service how they want to use it.
The difference in bandwidth is probably you have some ones grand mother who checks her e-mail and surfs recipe sites. Then you have the high school kid downloading large media files and playing online games for most of the day or night.
I've had cable service since 1997 and most of the people who I have known who also have the service use it casually. They may look at news sites, chat with people on their buddy list and download the occasional shareware program all their friends use.
The way I think is, if I'm paying for a fast connection I'm going to be trying to constantly putting it to use. Sharing files, downloading game demo's, downloading linux iso's and waiting for me to remote connect from work to sync my home and office PC.
My wonder is what the cap is going to be on amount of data allowed to be downloaded every month by these ISP's before I'm considered a high usage customer.

70ms of added lag between servers, I wonder how much that effects twitch reaction and firing accuracy.

wouldn't say they are 'good', but they do sell games online.
