    The F6 key can be used during installation to provide external or third-party storage drivers. Useful if you need to install windows on a Raid card or otherwise that is not supported without a driver.

    No. Macbook Air is shit for road-warrior. Non-swappable battery is a deal breaker.
    Sometimes on the road I don't have access to an outlet, and if I need to get work done, I better be able to swap the battery for my spare.

    So far, the EEE has been nothing but vaporware...
    I don't believe it'll ever actually be sold at that pricepoint either (without at least needing to know a direct sales contact within Asus).

    I actually am interesting in purchasing a few dozen units, though...

    Maybe the chip is geared for the server market, which would be my guess?
    The number '3' makes me think back to this previous slashdot posting about a three-way AMD server setup; but, it's just speculation on my part, until the chips are released.

    14 shots does certainly fit in a standard 20oz venti cup.
    A single shot is typically 1oz (although, baristas usually aren't that exact, and I came up with the '14' figure to allot for up to 1.5oz per shot).
    It's a little harder to fit in an 24oz iced venti cup, since some of that space is already used up by ice, so lately, I've just usually asked for ice on the side instead.

    And the other posts in this thread have already gone over the toxicity of caffiene.
    I'm certainly still alive. I think. I don't know if it's contributed to my heart problems or not though. ;-)

    I've got receipts to back it up, but, if you don't believe that I actually drink the thing, (which isn't that hard, since I just basically sip on the thing over the course of an entire day), I don't think there's any way I can prove it to you, without me actually drinking the thing in front of you.

    It's only 55 cents or so for each additional shot, so it's just under $8 bucks or so.
    Oh, and I have had Vietnamese coffee before... I get it whenever I order pho.

    Quad Espresso in an iced venti cup plus ten additional shots of espresso? Yes, that's fourteen shots in total.

    I have to repeat that order everytime I order at Starbucks, because it doesn't click the first time they hear it.

    Exactly! The heads of states in various countries that still are run by royal families are uncountably rich, simply because they effectively own their countries and the country's natural resources (oil!) and those resources aren't counted as part of their monetary wealth. Most notably the Sultan of Brunei, and the King of Saudi Arabia.

    From what I understand, this sounds like a new DDoS technique.
    Spoof some packets and forward them to a torrent tracker that so-and-so-IP-address is a seed for popular torrents.
    Watch as requests for that file flood the target. Repeat as necessary (actually, probably will need to repeat a whole lot).

    Assuming ten thousands oscillations a second, that's a life span of 3171 years or so. A million oscillations a second gives 31 years. I'm pretty sure it doesn't need to oscillate any much faster then a few kHz though...

    Uh, the accident didn't actually kill everyone on the ship. Yuri Mihairokoh, one of the main characters, was on that space ship and survives the accident. His wife dies however and this is part of the reason why he starts collecting space debris -- in order to locate his wife's compass-pendant, which he does, later in the anime. I believe it's also roughly the same in the manga too. Did you actually pay any attention when you were watching Planetes? You should watch it over again...

    Your comparision would be more apt if it was the same game on both, just with a lower res on the Wii. Wii can probably handle whatever PS3 can do, but, would be limited to 640x480 (and maybe some minor reduced effects, but, I'm in no position to speculate on that).

    Of course, the answer for me is the Wii, since, if I wanted to play Quake 4 anyway, I would just do it on my PC. While, Wii has Zelda :) (And, I'm boycotting Sony because of the lik-sang thing, but, that's a different matter entirely.)

    In NYC, you can use Citi's PayPass as a metrocard at 6 station terminals (the green line).
    And, that's pretty much the only thing I've used it for.
    I'm not really worried about theft of the information on the device -- there's zero liability and all that -- but, who knows how much hassle I might have to go through, to get the credit card company to actually credit the charges. Oh -- the paypass (and amex's expresspay) has a different credit card number embedded then the credit card it's associated with -- so, even if the paypass is 'lost', you only need to replace the paypass, and not your credit card.

    Well, ignoring the obvious response of "Linux", couldn't you have just bought a new video card? Nvidia still has a 98 driver, and I'm sure a low end video card is still cheaper then an upgrade copy of WinXP.

    ING Direct is only at 4.35% APY right now, but, Emigrant Direct and HSBC Direct are at 5.00% and 5.05% APY respectively.
    Emigrant is also supposed to go up to 5.15% APY on the 28th of this month.
    A better bet would be certificates of deposit though, if the money isn't needed for anything soon.
    Fidelity has 5.4% CDs, and there are even better rates out there if you look for them...
